I own a 2002 Murcielago, the engine warning light has come on showing a fault on the left side and the cars revving at 2000 rpms. it does this when its warm as well as cold. Lambo main dealer says it could be the throttle housing, but theyre not sure. Any Murcie owners had this problem??

It was the throttle adjustment that caused this problem in my Diablo Roadster (check engine L).

Was that easily resolved?dealers are saying a new housing will cost about 1K, and its likely I may have to change all 4!
I had a bad experiance with main dealers and avoid them as best I can. The garage I use is actually a Porsche specialist and Ive been using them for over 5 years for all my cars, the problem is they dont have the diagnostics machine.
Someone told me a Audi diagnostics computer will work, is that true?

I'm no expert. It done at Lambo high wycombe. Was a cheap fix compared to everything else that was done. Aparantly there is a couple of adjustable rods that influence the throttle settings. They have to be in balance and set to a certain value (they said they used some diagnistic gear to find that the settings were out). I found that on a long smooth road the lights stayed off but as soon as I braked or can to a junction the red light would come on and stay on for quite a while before going off. guess it was associated with me backing off on the throttle. So didn't need any parts to fix.

If you get really stuck, I guess you could just take it to Lambo/Audi for the diagnosis, and then have the repair (if one is needed) carried out at a place of your choosing.

I decided to do just that, so rang the AA as I didnt want to drive it 60 plus mile to the dealer just in case.
The AA guy pulled out his diagnostics and within 5 minutes I had a read out of the faults! He knew an incredible amount of the car.
He gave me the error codes and cleared the fault, since then Ive been driving it and the fault seems to have disappeared.
Anyone with a murcy, for a free dignostics ring the AA1

Or buy one of these http://www.rwmotortec.com/ccrsuper/ great little toys and leave it in the car so if you do get faults you can see what the problem is straight away and clear it.

I bought one it is a great bit of kit

No idea what your problem is, but would thoroughly recommend Graham @ Lamborghini Wycombe. They have sorted my Murci out after having dodgy experiences with Lamborghini Birmingham. Nice thing is with Lambo HW is that you can visit Graham and TALK stuff through with him... and st don't he know his stuff too!!

Oh...... and he tells me they are an official Maserati Service Centre now!

Reckon I'll get one of those tools. The cost is equivalent to one hour labour!
