Engine tapping noise Maserati 3200GT

I've just noticed that the engine bank on the washer & cooling water bottle side is making a tapping noise. Only really noticed it due to having the window down today.
Anybody have any ideas, the car is running fine, just the fact that this rev related tapping has surfaced today is a concern. Am I looking at a wallet hammering bill to get his fixed?
