I'm thinking of buying another Gallardo after selling my SE 6 months ago. I'm not sure whether to buy an SL now or wait till the LP560 arrives late in the year. I'm attracted to the hardcore nature of the SL but wonder if I'd regret not waiting for the 560. I'm sure I can get a good deal on an SL as the Australian dealer has a few in stock.

Anyone else having the same thoughts - or anyone care to comment?

doesn't the LP560 lap the 'ring 12 seconds quicker than the SuperL?

But the SL doesn't have fairy lights.

Tricky choice, SL seems well sorted, all glitches ironed out, proven steed whereas bound ot be some new model issue crop up with the 560 looking forward to seeing it next weekend, will ask if they supply pliers or wire cutters... smile

LP560 obviously - Lamborghini have taken it to the next level and i guess it will be allot quicker. I have been invited to track the SL at the end of this month at Knockhill which i assume is to start trying to shift them in time for the LP560's arrival. I have also noticed SL used prices taking a dive recently.

P.S. I doubt an LP560 SL will appear, an all new model will surely be released.

the SL/LP560 situation isn't a million miles away from the SE/MY06 I think.

Isn't this always the way when manufacturers bring out a special edition; there were rumors of a facelift/new G before the SL was launched so it should have been preempted by buyers who watch the market. I don't think prices will be greatly affected by the release of the new model as the replacement for the SL will be a long way off; I would imagine over the next couple of years the prices will plateau out at around the current prices of the 360cs; but then what do I know I'm a long way from owning one!!

I wouldn't. There's always something new coming, and high performance models usually precede a more fundamental model change. Are Scuderia buyers cancelling their orders due to the 09 F430 replacement on its way? (I wish they would.wink)

you're not really comparing like with like though-the 430 replacement wont be a direct competitor to the scud , just like the 430 wasnt a replacement challenge stradale. The machines we're talking about are pretty extreme and miles apart from the normal "street" versions imho smile

I saw the 560 at Geneva yesterday. Unless you are going to do a lot of track work I'd take it over the SL any day. The changes add up to a significant improvement to the car overall and the tech changes under the skin are very extensive.

Very nice demonstration assistant on the stand as well thumbup
