Lambo Murcialago
Discussion
i think its always a good idea not to mash your foot into the carpet for the first 500 miles or so with any car, but i've heard that gallardos are all tested and driven round quite hard at the factory before delivery, prob the same with murcialagos. I know from working at MINI that we used to drive the cars coming off the line pretty hard to test things like ABS etc

Here is a complete list of similarities between any Lamborghini, Ferrari or Maserati 'level' of car and one you can mash the bits off, rag the clutch of, drive like a minicab and treat like dirt from the day it comes off the line at whichever factory...

There y' go - there are basically none!
Obviously, you can choose to drive a car such as a Murciélago like that but you'll need to make sure that your pockets are as deep as an old colliery and full of that (newly even more valuable!) gold stuff.
OR, you could take it easy, learn the car, listen to what it says to you and enjoy it for as long as you want - without getting on first name terms with the old girl in the corner shop near the dealer you bought it from, let alone everyone who works at said dealers!
If you are buying a new Murciélago (and as most people here will not be surprised to hear me say), why not join Lamborghini Club UK? Please feel free to contact me or any LCUK committee person who's often here (Boss Cerbera for example) or send me a PM with your number and I'll buzz you back.
Our website is at www.lamborghiniclubuk.com - looking forward to speaking to you soon.

as far as I know and as sure as somebody who hasn't had any dinner yet can ever say ...
Agip oils are considered essential for new Lamborghinis (btw, you might want to check the dealer you are buying from's standing with Agip - they like their invoices to be paid whoever you are!) but any day/hour/minute now, somebody who really does know more than squat-diddly about that level of service detail for new Lamborghinis will probably pass by and give you a better insight.
Are y' there AR???
If you are about to buy a Lamborghini Murciélago - which one? LP640 or a "who cares about sunshine" LP640 Roadster??
I'm actually riddled with some buckets o' green, green jealousy... Verde Ithaca is a fabulous colour and if you get one that colour I will set my pack of semi-tame leprechauns on you! (and it's not even St. Patricks day until Monday!)

Is that because Agip are an Italian company?Agip oils are considered essential for new Lamborghinis (btw, you might want to check the dealer you are buying from's standing with Agip - they like their invoices to be paid whoever you are!) but any day/hour/minute now, somebody who really does know more than squat-diddly about that level of service detail for new Lamborghinis will probably pass by and give you a better insight.

Things like that may well be the case although some folk used to say any proper and good quality oil would be OK - they don't say that sort of thing these days though, so there must be a good reason... (perhaps the Agip cosa nostra got to them!)
The oil thing is all a big con - I once got a bill for £150 from an Aston dealer for oil put in for a service - I rang up to complain because they didn't use the manufacturers recommended oil, and they charged us about three times what it would have cost me to put in the recommended stuff. We now use Millers in all our vehicles, and they are in fact approved by all the manufacturers on our fleet - they just don't advertise the fact.....
