Hi guys, any tips on buying a 355. Always loved the blue and Tan but as it is my first Ferrari should I go for red?

I am going to keep it in a garage close to home but would appreciate any advice on what to look for.

Many thanks

If you were sitting at the traffic lights in your blue 355 and a red one pulled up along side, how would you feel? Thought so....get a red one!!!!!!

I've got to admit the yellow is lovely but it still has to be red. When you guys take your wives/girlfriends to Italy for the obligatory tour you'll need a red one! For any of you that haven't done the Italian tour yet....GET ON WITH IT! It may be the nearest you ever come to being a film star!

But everybody buys red! Ok, so admittedly red usually suits Ferraris more, but if its a 355 spider, yellow suits the car better. Bit like a 456 GT has to be in TDF blue, or a 550 in Titanium.

How is this relevant? Get the colour you like. You're the one that will be driving it. smile

Sorry but I think they all look good in red........just to change the subject and as you live in Yorkshire.......a few years ago I took my 355 up there......it didn't exactly get a good reception! Do you still get that?

No, Ive only ever had a good reception with it. I think it depends on how old the Ferrari is. If its a really modern one, 360 onlwards when they started to lose their looks a bit (sorry to all the modern F owners), then they're usually a little off apparently, but 355 and earlier gets cheers, waves, shouts and just generally encouraging comments.

There's a pub where the guy who I bought the 355 off goes and when he went in a 430 he got the to**er sign, but just had a flock of people perving over the 355.

Quite true........ I was around the Pickering area when the car was fairly new. It wasn't a good experience. I was doubly disappointed as I was born there and lived there until I was 19. It is still home in some respects. Is Brian's in Headdingley still the best fish and chip shop in the world?

Brian's is still going as far as I know yes

Yeah wouldn't have thought that in Pickering.

And I thought the Magpies in Whitby was the best fish and chips?

Always buy the car not the colour but keep in mind you will be selling it one day so either avoid the colours that are difficult to shift or pay accordingly.

Bought my black 355 few weeks ago and couldnt be happier with the colour, spec, etc, etc....

BTW if you do want a blue car then I think Nick Cartwright still has one!

Yeah, Nick Cartwright always has a blue 355 in, and they do still sell quite easily. He's had a few different ones since I was last looking in November. Test drove a beautiful 355 F1 berlinetta in TDF blue with beige hide.

Stunning looking car.

Problem with the red spider is that it needs to have the roof down to look good, where as the yellow with black roof looks good up or down.

Or thats my opinion anyway, but ofcourse I would say that.
