Why do people say stuff like this - it makes no sense, Ferrari and Lamborghini are both fantastic companies in their own way and both build fantastic cars. Ferrari have more racing pedigree certainly, but Lambo gave us the Muira and showed the fight could be taken to Ferrari, they have always built crazy and outlandish cars. Many better than Ferraris of the same time.
It is a matter of personal prefence which you prefer, personally if I was a multi-millionaire I think I'd have one of each. It would be a sin to discount one manufacturers efforts over another because some gansta rappers buy them or because one has won more motor races. Consider what car you prefer and dont be lead, which car best suits your needs and does the job you want it to do best. For me these are the criteria I use when picking any car and the same would apply to these.

So what he's really saying about sitting behind the wheel of an F430 and thinking about Schumacher and whoever, is that all Fezza owners are just a bunch of wannabes. Nice put down.
Are that they like to think of men?

Of course, I'm a lowlife and jealous of everyone with a Lamborghini or Ferrari... Or if your name is Traxx, I hate you even more...

I was posting a little while ago about buying a Gallardo (I had driven one) Then I went to see a poteintial purchase (Gallardo) and also drove a 430 on the same day - now I'm looking for a 430!!! Make of that what you will!
Just read some of the replies to the story - there some quite stressed people there aren't there!? Personally worrying what other people think is really not of my list of purchasing decisions. I certainly didn't of Schumacher or any other racing driver when I drove a 430 either

oh dear the 'my car is better than yours' debate.
It really is sad!! I have driven both Ferrari's and Lamborghini's and both have there own unique feel!!Up until a couple of years ago, i would never have had a Lamborghini over a Ferrari because i am all about the prancing horse!! But that all goes out the window when you drive an one! and the first time i saw a Gallardo Spyder i melted!
To say that Lamborghini lacks the passion of a Ferrari is idiotic to say the least! Passion and belief are the 2 reasons that we have Lamborghini!
This chap is in the very fortunate/unfortunate (depends on what way you look at it!!) position of only really having lots and lots of long straight roads and not many where you can actually drive these cars to there full potential!
Just an opinion but what do i know!!

It was very 'interesting' to read the writers skewed version of the status of both Enzo Ferrari and Ferruccio Lamborghini at the time(s) of the "stick to making tractors" incident(s).
Enzo Ferrari was, at best, a chancer who extensively used sales of his cars to bolster his racing efforts. His appearance was always one of a nobleman when he was certainly not such a person, either in breeding or character.
Rightly, for his great work with his racing team he was commended by the Italian government, hence his much-used title, "Commendatore"... The variable performance of his racing team and his not-so-great late 1960's road cars were the real reasons he sold the Ferrari brand to FIAT but please correct me if I'm wrong on this matter as I don't pretend to know that much about Ferrari's history.
Ferruccio Lamborghini was, in some respects, a similar chancer but for his efforts in providing small, strong tractors and the financing structure for farmers to buy them, (when Italy really needed something like that after WW2), he was created Cavalieri del Lavoro - a Knight of Labour.
Ferruccio Lamborghini never tried to give any impression that he was in some way of a higher 'class' than he was. He came from a simple farming background but had had some engineering training before WW2. By all accounts, he literally had grit under his fingernails most of the time and would roll up his sleeves to tighten a nut or pour some oil into an engine.
When the state of Italian commerce and trade union relations became vastly compromised in the early 1970's, FL offloaded the car factory to other people to sweat with and moved to his vinyard in Umbria.
In the short run, Enzo Ferrari's escape route was probably a better made choice for the Ferrari brand than Ferruccio Lamborghini's decision. In the (much) longer run, FIAT will have to really up the ante with their various brands to allow them to keep making any Ferrari cars at all - in 2007 they did OK, not great, just OK. Volkswagen AG could continue to regard Lamborghini as just some financial decimal dust in most ways when it comes to whatever difference in VAG's profitability Sant'Agata might make - quite slight millions versus many, many billions.
However, the fact that Automobili Lamborghini is greatly in profit by the standards of the 1963-1998 period and consistently so for the last few years and in some relative substance as well must have Ferruccio smiling down from above now.
As regards the original writer in the USA's comments about Ferruccio Lamborghini in the early 1960's, he had already accumulated significant personal funds through his many business interests and had owned a number of cars that were considered great vehicles before he established Automobili Lamborghini in 1962. I'd venture to suggest he was probably a far wealthier individual than Enzo Ferrari at that time although that's a matter of some irrelevance these days as well as then.
There is some credibility in the information about the clutch in the Ferrari that Lamborghini owned being essentially the same as ones that were fitted to some of the tractors that Lamborghini Trattice were building in the late 1950s... If anything, this was the real matter for the dispute, if it was ever much more than just a bit of a tiff.
Anybody who goes to Supercar Valley much or deals with people there regularly knows that the relationships between all the 'players' is at least cordial and at best a vigourous, cheerful and healthy rivalry. They will all be watching with amusement as their customer numbers continue to grow, even if some numpties talk utter b*ll*x about things they clearly understand and know so little of.
To conclude, before you fall off your seat(s):
If people write inflammatory words like that chap in Amerikkyland, they are just following in the galumphing, boorish footsteps of people like our own dear Jemimah Klaxon...
These footsteps go like this:
STEP 1: MAKE A NAME FOR YOURSELF - say and write anything at all, no matter what it is, in order that you do.
STEP 2: TURN THAT NAME INTO MONEY - somehow, anyhow and as much as possible.
STEP 3: PAY NO ATTENTION TO ANYBODY WHO SAYS YOU ARE A... anything at all. You've made your name and your money by that point, so what do you care?
The fact that this mis-informing half man / half wit in the United States of Aberrance actually responds to any replies or comments about his sexual preferences shows that he's not, as yet, finished STEP 1 and has yet to begin making much of STEP 2's intentions so cannot allow STEP 3, hopefully to continue to be the case for many a decade yet!

Ive noticed on this forum loads of people are pro lambo! Theres no issue in that but every time somone goes pro lambo in the next breath its somthing or other that is in somway againt ferrari? Why is this? Im sure a)lambo owners are secure enough to be able to make the choice between the 2 brands and b) realise there are good and bad points to each car. I remember when the reventon thread was on here, people who were merely saying it wasn't there cup of tea were trying to be convinced by the lambo crowd that it was the best thing that had ever been put in to form? To be honest it lowers the tone of the forum, it can sound rather b
hy and at best sounds like my sega/dad/focus/nike is better than your nintendo/dad/astra/reebok. Just wondering why people do it?
Oh and for the record im securly on the fence i dont favor any brand i normaly just get them all.
before anyone says anything i do take the piss like i once called a lambo and audi and more than once made breaking down jokes about tvr's but they were in jest. Some people actually believe the s
t that they spout!

Just an opinion but what do i know!!

I can't work out if i'd have a 599 or a LP640
I'd have a Gallardo Spyder over a 430 Spider all day long
I'd have a 430 Scud over a Gallardo SL all day long
I'd have a 360 CS over a Gallardo or a 430 all day long
Ferrari personally means more to me than the Lambo brand, but i would buy the car i want, wouldn't matter if that car was a Ferrari or a Lambo. Not one bit.
Surely we all buy the car we want regardless of other people's opinions ?
