3 out 4 isn't bad - no Bugatti

I've been considering a Scuderia but the 430 is a bit disappointing to be honest so not sure anymore. I realise that the Scud is a different car but I just find that I'm more of a Lamborghini person. I previously owned a 360 and never really took to that either. An LP560-4 is much more up my street I think

Difficult to go back once you've been to the dark side!I have an LP560-4 coupe on order to replace the spyder and will then replace the coupe with a facelift spyder next year. The Scuderia was a chance opportunity that came my way but I doubt I'll pursue it. The spyder is my second white Gallardo and until the LP560 launch this colour was a well kept secret. It makes the car look less showy but more aggressive at the same time if that makes sense. More brawn than bling.
Very nice pics Iain, plenty of choice to pop to the shops in!
Take it they wouldn't / couldn't lend you a 430 Scud?.
How's the Gallardo going? Are you getting much use at the moment? Weather's been pretty naff to get much use out of mine over the past few months. Hopeing it will change soon!
Saw your 500 outside your house too. Looks nice. Bet it's fun too!

Hi Mark,
Unfortunately there wasn't a Scuderia available but I don't think I've done badly as this is the newest F430 they have in stock just now. It's my first time in a Ferrari since I sold the 360 to Blot and was somehow expecting more from the car after reading how much it has been improved. I have to say that I'm not very impressed overall thus far. The front end still feels light and skittish at speed and has a tendency to wander if you lift off. Perhaps this is what some people refer to as light, delicate handling
The build quality in the interior is also pretty poor with sagging leather in several places and some very badly fitted leather most noticeably on the rear bench (and this car is pretty well optioned up with the daytona rear wall option, leather headliner and door sills, carbon fibre upper dash etc). The overall build quality of the Gallardo is simply leagues ahead and the quality of materials used is much better. It feels like a modern car from a different era compared to the 430. After the V10 the V8 feels a bit limp wristed at lower revs and doesn't sound nearly as good to my ears. A couple of people who popped round last night thought the Ferrari was all but invisible when I put the spyder next to it. I'd like to have a good look at a Scuderia before making a final decision but on balance at the moment I think I'll take the bull over the horse.
I've had the spyder out a few times this year as I'm able to take advantage of any sunny days that come along. I've had a few roof down blasts round Rutland etc and took it down to Millbrook in February when I went to the Lamborghini Driving Academy.
The 500 is a great little car by the way and holds it's own in more expensive company I think. I've got my name down for an Abarth and that should be a lot of fun.

You know, that's pretty much what I'd heard about the 430. I do miss the Gallardo, just not the dealers! I reckon I'll certainly have another in the future.
I had seen the Abarth reports, sounds good! As long as Fiat don't hold back and let it compete with the Punto abarth etc it should be a great car.
