So at least there's a lambo owner here who uses his car. Rejoicing!

Wow!! Lovely looking car, but why only two wheel drive, surely that makes the power a bit difficult to put down - but then I suppose the same can be said of a Cerby; I’m just rambling, ignore me.

Why did you order it in 2WD (especially in the UK)?

Why 2WD? - Several reasons really.

1)VT understeers (understeers with 550+hp?? how can that be right???!!!!). My previous car was the SV - and it was as cool as you like - compared to the VT which I just didn't get on with...

2)Saves 80-100Kg in wieght (varies depending on who you talk to)

3)Much better gearchange. No Vicsous Coupling to interfere with the already agricultural gearchange. I've learnt - no - am still learning - double-declutching which actually sets the cars balance up much better as you approach a corner (for trackdays etc.)- and there is a lot of weight - you don't really wan't to be correcting going in - trust me!

4)Car handling (in my opinion) is improved with more progressive break-away. This, of course, is completely dependant on just how hard you stomp on the loud pedal...)

5)No one else has one!

Do you leave it on the street as the picture suggest?!
How often do you use it?
Sorry for these questions but it is so rare to discuss with a Lambo driver

Not any more.

I used to park my 550 and SV outside in the road (SW London). the current Diablo spent 2 months living in that road! - But I've moved now - with a little bit of lad - so the car is offroad and out of site (just waiting on planning permission to build the garages).

I'm sure the neighbours though I was a gangster - or drug dealer - and so I had no aggro for 1.5 years!

I use my cars as often as I can.

The 550 racked up 16,000 miles in 6 months, whilst the SV did approx 10,000 in 9 months.

The current one has only done 6,500 ) since end of June - when I picked up the car. This is due to working in the City - doing some consultancy which entail hideous hours - so I use my bike to commute.

The Diablo is regularly seen at Sainsburys doing the shopping! Or in London. Or in Europe! It hasn't missed a beat - as I'm sure you know cars like to be used. If you store them and do nothing - they go wrong!

In the worrs of Tony the tiger - there GRRRRRrrrreat!

I guess you don't attend the (snobbish ?) meetings of Lamborghinis, do you?
What do you think of the new one?

Have done - and I wouldn't call them snobbish. In fact I would say there is more snobbery at Ferrai meets (where I've seen people look down on 'lesser' Ferrari's).
Lambo's are generally owned by real enthusiasts (they sell about 10/15% of what Ferrai do).

I went to the Murcielago launch - and yes its a great car - but I have deferred my order unitl - wait for it - they'll do me a 2WD version. They would initially - so I'll wait until they do!

I reckon it will be easier to drive - which makes it more accessable - but looses some of the Lambo'ness. I don't really care if the shut lines are tighter - I just to have the Lambo experience (i.e Scary!). I'd go for a 996 turbo if I want nice shut lines thank you!

I'm lloking forward to their baby car - V10 - 500bhp 2WD and smaller - will be naughty, I reckon.

yeah me too.... desperately hoping they'll resurrect most of the Carla...cos that was utterly gorgeous!

Personally Im happy with the Viscous Coupling on the diablo. I take your point on the gearchange..but you ever driven an esprit? After that, the diablo change was a nice surprise!

Yes Nightmare, I saw it in EVO some months ago, but IMO its design is a bit too 'soft' for a Lambo: some lines are a bit too rounded I think

Fernlea Road - in sunny Balham!

I think that most people did too (Drug Czar) - never got any grief too - well not too much - only pissed kids - except my close nieghbours who sent their entire families around with crap IT questions....

I don't recall seeing a Turbo2 nearby though - although there are quite few TVR's (griff, Chimps and Tuscans) - and an occasional Rara...

Anjum,

Have you ever heard of a diablo which was ordered by a sheik or something who finally didn't buy the car because it hadn't been finished when he expected, and which was sold to the current (former?) chairman of the UK lambo owners club?

If I remember correctly what I've been told this car is light blue with white leather...

It spends a lot of time in the garage (somewhere near your house) although my mate lives on Kirkstall rd and I often end up driving past. Usually in cab f!!ck'd out of my face after a work do

In fact the drug reference came from the Cab driver, I just nodded and fell asleep

Thom - the car in question is a Sultan of Brunei red (read dark maroon - or slightly clotted blood!) SE30. Apparently the factory missed his birthday by a day - doh!

Anjum,
I was just asking this because my father is a good friend of the father of the husband of the sister of the chairman ,(don't laugh, that's true!).

Anjum, are there many options on where to get the lambo serviced in this country? Can't be many places around.
