Prancing Pony

Novitec take the excellent Ferrari Scuderia and make it completely different

The Ferrari F430 Scuderia is a fine balance – a subtle power increase, clever weight loss and some Schumacher know-how. And then Ferrari-tuners Novitec come along and crank the power up by another 200bhp, paint the alloys yellow and fit blacked-out rear lights. Hmmm.

Luckily for those who don’t trust Ferrari’s ability to create the perfect F430 the Novitec Rosso version has now arrived, complete with not one, but two superchargers. The car now has 717bhp ,will now top 215mph and will accelerate to 62mph in 3.5 seconds.

The heat insulated intake manifold have been redesigned to provide the engine with pre-compressed air and then it also gets two high performance air filters and eight larger injectors. The extra heat generated from the power hike is cooled with a higher capacity coolant system.

The car can also be fitted with a Novitec flat-bottomed steering wheel and carbon fibre shift paddles. Novitec sports springs lower the car although there is a hydraulic lift system to raise the nose 40mm in seconds.

So here you have it: a Scuderia Ferrari that is totally different from how the Prancing Horse intended it. Where do I sign?

No, i'm sure that some small-arsed little tuning company can improve on the thousands upon thousands of hours spent fine tuning the car by some of the world's finest engineers. No really.

I'm not a fan of the alloys. Plain black would be my choice. I am quite fan of performance mods to cars though. Makes the car that little bit more unique and special.

"...pre-compressed air and the it also gets two..."

PH spelling is sloppy.

exactly

with those wheels on must handle like crap. Would need the extra horsepower to gain back all the lost performance on handling finesse.

An extra 200bhp with minimal affect on the 0-60 times and top speed?? I would hope the improvement comes in the mid range. Any ideas on prices? Not that im in the market mind!

Not a fan of the 'Kahn' type styling!

guys you haven't seen what the Ozy company Nizpro did to a 355 then?? strpped two trubos onto an stock engine (NO internal mods only uprated injectors and a Motec ECU) and ran 600bhp. there was more to be had but they didn't wnat to push the engine to its limits as it was a customers car!!

im supriesed companies haven't used forced induction on these engines before. clearly they are VERY strong engines.

i personally like the car and hope you can get the same engine mods on the standard car.

Cheers

Chris.

This is very true. However the tuning companies charge what they like, whereas Ferrari have a budget each car can cost. So in theory the tuners can improve things with better components and more of a "cost no object" perspective.

A disgrace, its for show offs and curb crawlers. The scuderia needs nothing more than an enthusiast behind the wheel with a penchant for putting the mannetino on cst mode

Quite how you can call a 700bhp F430 with a set of wheels that "you" don't like a disgrace and be a petrolhead is very very strange to me.

I might not like certain parts of the styling but can you imagine what it goes like and the noise it makes with the twin superchargers whining!!

I think there is almost a sense of jealousy when these sort of cars come up since only the very few people will be able to afford them and therefore they must go to footballers and the like and as we know they are all wrs with no sense of taste or classwink!! tbh if I could afford one I wouldn't give a toss what people thought of me, I'd just enjoy driving the thing!

Novitec Rosso - Why did they paint it yellow? - I'm no expert but doesn't Rosso mean red in the old Italiano lingo?

Pretty ignorant statement considering the size of the aftermarket performance industry. As someone else said, manufactures make all sorts of compromises for budget, comfort, reliability, setup, targeted market etc. Tuning shops serve the people who don't care for those compromises.

those sideskirts are bigger than standard aren't they?

Nice car, yellow looks ace. I've only seen a red and a grey one in the metal.

Sorry but that is a beast! 717bhp thats an enormous amount of power for a car that is lighter then a silver rizzeler....

I like it, i bet the tyres don't last very long though......

I love all the 'hate' comments on this thread about the 'styling'. Haven't you lot realised the styling is unchanged, the exterior is standard 430 Scuderia, even the colour is standard Scuderia yellow with the grey stripes. The only styling difference are the wheels and they aren't that bad aside from the yellow on the outer rim, but certainly no worse than Ferraris own very tacky gold rims. As to the idiot who thinks those wheels would ruin the handling, maybe you should lay off the crack before making yourself look so stupid. Those wheels may well be lighter than the standard items for all you know and even if they aren't that doesn't automatically make it handle like a pig.

PH has already reviewed the ordinary F430 Novitec Rosso with twin superchargers a couple of years back, there was no suggestion that the car was compromised in anyway.
