I know it's not Italian but it is Italian designed. The Countach is all well and good on high days and holidays but I decided that I needed a more practical classic aswell. I take delivery on saturday and I can't wait. It has done 41,000 miles from new and is absolutely original even down to the sheepskin seats and the dictaphone! I'm sorry to put it on this forum but I had to tell someone as I think I've wanted one of these even longer than a Lamborghini.

I'd love an Interceptor. That one looks absolutley stunning.

I love the sheepskin and leather interior, you really can't get much more seventies!

I am very jealous!

That's the first time I've seen 'Jenson Interceptor' and 'Practical' in the same sentence hehe

Lovely cars and a friend ran one for a number of years. Even back then (20 years ago or so) he had to save up for the petrol for a long run. I define long as Brentwood in Essex to Halesworth in Suffolk. About 100 miles each way!

Thanks Gents, this one belonged to the curator of the National Motor Museum.......I just couldn't resist it! As for fuel.....it sure can't use more than the Lambo and at least I can take the family with me!

How on earth do you know Michael Fish had one?

My good pal Talkwrench has one of those sat in his garage that he has owned for, ooh 20 years or more. God knows when he last drove it though.

Same colour as well, with a rather, er, interesting No plate smile

On the trip up to Suffolk cruising on the A12 around 70mph and then slowly down about 10 miles of B roads I seem to remember 12mpg. Going fast it was, er, worse. I don't think he ever dared work it out! His was a 6.2. Lord knows what an FF would be like.

I assume your family is small kids? Mate was over 6ft tall with the drivers seat in the correct position it was up against the rear seat.

That all said I still really like them. It's a timeless design that'll always look good in my eyes....

Gorgeous. That looks like a particularly good example. You'll really love it. With 235/60 tyres fitted it will cling to the road for dear life. They're very surprising cars in many ways. I learnt all about 'tail out in the wet' from mine smile
I went all over Europe in mine and toured the length of Britain several times. It averaged 15-16 to the gallon and never missed a beat. Thrash it and they will drop to 11mpg but theyre all about wafting along on that monumental torque.
I really must get round to restoring it to its former glory. That 7.2 litre exhaust note is a joy to behold.
Enjoy it, use it, oh... and rust proof it!

hmmmm

1 big, lazy, unstressed American V8 - check

2 Italianate styled in the UK - check

3 quite idiosyncratic - check

4 currently in 'production' - nope

5 remarkably individual - check

6 too cool to be in any competition - (mostly) check

7 known drinking problem - check

8 current dealer support and assistance after sale - nope

9 automatically deletes and deters fake tanned and uncouth 'potential' clients - nope

10 would be mostly 'unseen' by the sweating masses - probably check

a total of 7 / 10 - not too bad at all and a lovely car btw, looks the very thing...

(although, for the full 10 you might have preferred to think about something made in a city just to the east of the River Severn with only the one dealer in Kensington...)

congratulations mate enjoy. I've always fancied one. I was offered an SP by a chap I knew, yellow with black roof and black leather, had won best Jenson etc. just did not have the money back then at that time. £9000 from memnory. Used to pop into his electrical shop from time to time just to drule over it.

Thanks for your kind words, I'm glad you like it! A really undervalued car in my opinion. I just can't wait to see it in the drive!
