Anything in particular to look out for?

Can you get the clutch condition checked (its a manual)? ECU read out for over revs? What do knackered ceramic discs look like?

This one doesn't have a radio/cd ... anybody had mp3 and speakers retro fitted? (not bothered about satnav)

Thanks in advance!

fwiw i've had a hub cap badge drop off, an interior trim panel unclip itself and crap in the exhaust mislead a sensor
fundamentally, the car feels really solid and well-built, broadly on a par with a 911
mine's e-gear without ceramics
rado/cd is a complete waste of time : if you want them, then you're missing the point
awesome car, a keeper

911, superleggera, elan : i've seen a few coincidences like this now

seven hours in a superleggera may have an interesting effect on you
i'm absolutely buzzing after a couple of hours

brilliant car for an hour or two, but i'm not so sure about long distance cruising

Im just guessing, but I think for the destination, the SL may be the preferred weapon of choice. thumbup

Check the carbon fibre weave in the door cards, i know someone who bought one and the weave in one door looked like atrocious, gaps and lines on the piss everywhere.

Ah, showing my rookie colours there, what/where exactly is "Spa"?

Reminds me of an amusing story about a chap who complained about the carbon fibre on his Caterham R500 not being "aligned". He wouldn't accept that carbon fibre isn't an exact art and Caterham ended up replacing his wings with a set of aftermarket "fake" carbon fibre just so that the "weave" was all aligned properly!

I'm not a carbon fibre expert but my understanding is that the cosmetics of the weave have nothing to do with the structural rigidity of the material.

AFAIK it can be done, Pagani seem to be the masters of this - I suppose it's down to cost. For the price of a Superleggera, though, you might expect it to look pretty?

right - left it long enough...

you did go and check didn't you AP... admit it!!!

I saw a Zonda at Pagani's factory in 2003 which was destined never to be painted... they made every millimeter of the bodywork's cf weave line up just-so.

They were also obviously involved in a general working procedure system which involved everybody stopping for a good think and chin-rubbing 'hmmmmmm...' every time anybody stopped - I'm (quite) sure that didn't extend to communal toilet trips at least not that morning.

do you honestly think that i'm such a shallow, obsessive, predictable, anoraked, bearded, exacting, pedantic, fussy, get-a-life, just plain sad individual that i'd go down to my garage in the rain and crawl around on the dusty garage floor checking my door trims ?

ps : why do both my doors have small yellow stickers underneath reading "U.S. Door" ?

I don't think you are any of those things, slightly touchy about sticker though... what did you expect? Maybe micro thin matt black stickers with "M.K. Door" printed in lightweight ink and peeling slightly due to low weight glue.

See what I did there? I overworked the whole thing - bit like the drama I made out of cleaning the fridge whilst the sun was shining this afternoon.

Anyway - re. the cf weeeeeeeeave and sticker situation - for the want of a better phrase (or even 'that' ruddy big smilie) - this thread is useless without pics - so you must go and crawl around in the spilled diesel and brake fluid and take some...
