I'm thinking of adding a plate to one of my cars, but i'm just a bit concerned that it will be viewed as wanky rather than funny.

One plate is marque specific and the other is tonge in check sexual reference. Both plates are well into 5 figures and need no silly spacing or other trickery.

Personally I find them funny as they are a bit outrageous but last thing I need is more people trying to cut me up and give me the bird.

I'd rather keep the specific plate details off the thread for now, just looking for people opinion.

If you like it, and it doesnt need wanky spacing, then go for it..

at those prices, they're likely to retain their value / increase if they're decent enough (and not depreciating model specific) so worst case you can always punt them back on again if you dont like it.

IMHO!

Car related is only worth doing if you are going to keep the car for a long time and you can sell it with the car ... but a lot of people buying the car may already have their own plate so not want it.

Sexual reference ones look, only in my opinion mind, a bit sad.

Totally your call though smile

The sexual reference is cheeky rather than porno.

Don't go 'sexual reference' - I think that IS a bit poor. Saw a Fez 430 spider last weekend. Was expressing just what a great car it is to the other half - until it came into a rear facing view with the number plate R4NDY.

We both then agreed, that guy is a c*ck! Nice car, driven by a c*ck. An easy way to make a £130K car look cheap and nasty.

PS, if this is your plate, and you post on here, I get the point, at least you are a c*ck with a Ferrari!

I agree R4NDY is prize c*ck affirming material. The one i'm looking at is making reference to the car rather than its owner.

Got friends with HOT 56X, HOT 23X, RAW 53X,
All get lots of smiles.

Smiles are what life's about, and there's never enough of it.
I have several fun plates and much prefer them to initials with a number.

They are always a good investment so your money is always there.

Don't let the miserable buggers get you down.
Go for it and enjoy.

I have H12LUT (which i think as do a few others reads as HI SLUT)

which gets great comments, and mostly from females lol

I have contemplated selling it though, as after a few years, the novelty has worn off for me now

Surprised DVLA would allow HOT 56X and RAW 53X- and they don't show up.Some plate butchery going on?

Could be worse ...

Knocks on girlfriend's parent's door ... large unimpressed father type figure opens wearing the biggest scowl you've ever seen ...

"Hi ... I'm, er, er ,er Mr Jones"

biggrin

Nah, knowing BJ he'd had the Father doing body shots of the mum within 5 mins.

My favourite plate ever was C11 NT - as seen on a Diablo a few years back now.

I think go for it, then when the novelty wears off you could always sell it.
The one referring to the car/model could be sold with car or to someone with similar.

P.S i usually see BA51ARD on a porker in/outbound on m4.Now that you would think twice about.....

Well, i've put some cheeky bids in, lets see what happens. Only slight problem is a number of my mates have all said, "so looking to get your car key'd then." One of the plate/car combos is probably a bit of a slap in the face for people struggling to buy a loaf of bread at the mo.
