blown tyre - had one today - anyone had one recently?
Discussion
There I was, driving along the M25 earlier this morning, fairly heavy traffic(all three lanes full), but nonetheless moving around 60-70mph, when I noticed a vibration throughout the car... which began to feel worse quite quickly, and then a loud 'bang'... the rear of the car became hard to control... and I realised other cars giving me a wide berth...
A rapid manoerver from the 'outside' lane to the hard shoulder, followed by a quick inspection showed that nearly half of the inside tyre wall of my offside rear has disintegrated.
Fortunately, no damage to the wheel, car etc... so thanks to mr RAC, got transported back, car is now with Grimaldi (thanks Rob), to have a bit of a check over... and new rear tyres...
Must say, I'm not dissappointed to change the rears... the Continental tyres which came with the Gransport wheels have definitely not had the same level of grip as the Michelin Pilot Sports I had before... anytime it was anything from mildy damp... things could get very slippery and occasionally unpredictable...
