If coming from bond street, I am pretty sure its the left corner of Grsvnr Sqaure, so would be opposite the embassy if you look accross the middle.

I'm half expecting a torrent of abuse for saying this, but after two months with my Scud and its incredible gearbox I'm still not in love with it as something that benefits the driving experience. As a feat of engineering yes, its fabulous, changes so fast its out of this world....yet call me old fashioned but I miss the clutch and having to physically shift the gear myself.

So on the one hand I look at it and marvel at how far F1's have come since the first ones, but can't help but think its all a little too Playstation like.

I work right by HR Owen on Old Brompton Road and quite a while ago a Range Rover pulled up and out jumped GR. I was outside having a ciggie and the girls I was with got very excited/giggly and he popped over to sign one of their notebooks she had on her.
I asked him what he was up to and he said "ordering a Ferrari" then off he went inside, spent about an hour in there and left.

I think thats the reason the Porsche 997 GT3RS got the nod over the Scud in the last Evo Car of the Year feature.

Its all very well going as fast as possible but unless you are racing whats the point if its not any fun?

Being that you actually own one, you can say anything you like about your Scuds gear boxsmile The only people qualified to say otherwise IMO to you are other Scud owners and not us dreamers;)

I'm totally with you on that!

I would rather have something like an Exige than a flappy paddle anything, regardless of its tarmac ripping credentials.

As mentioned above - I don't care if it's .5 second faster on paper, if it's not as much fun to drive then what have I gained?!

A very bizarre comparison from years ago... I borrowed my friend's V70R which was very quick for a day-car. I zipped around, P*ing off merc and beemer owners and picked up the wheels that wouldn't have fit in my own day-car (a Metro!)

By the end of the evening, I was SOOOO bored with the 4wd, Automatic, tippety-tronic, DTSC, PAS, ABS, (yada yada yada) that I was actually GLAD to get back into my crappy 1.4L GSi Metty as it was (despite by my own admission being a very cr@p granny's shopping trolley) MORE FUN TO DRIVE!

Er, that has nothing to do with what you find pleasurable about driving. For me, a manual is part of the experience. No, it may not be the fastest method anymore, but for me it's not the point, especially when the majority of roads I drive on you can't do silly speeds in order to get a rush.

Hence why they made the f430 no?

This is aimed pretty solidly at the track market, I would say..

Supposedly but its too loud for most trackdays so you are limited where you can take it.

Lots of owners on sites like Ferrarichat have said that for road use its just too fast to enjoy.

Seems to fall in between two stools really.
