After the standard immobilser/alarm system for 95-98 age diablos.
(black key fob with one red, one white button), unit fits in the front compartment behind the access panel.
Anyone got a spare one kicking around that they have upgraded?
Garage servicing my car managed to blow mine.
Unlikely but worth asking.

Hi Pete

I think the garage should replace it.

They will, but the system is not available anymore. Hence why many replace it.
Hope all is well Lorraine.

Apparently it wasn't blown now due to a voltage spike, but was caused by the batterty being disconnected for too long. They unit loses it's code and is rendered useless.

Hi Pete

So what happens now? Maybe contact the Factory? They shut all of August for holidays. Maybe someone like Grimaldi's could help you or Eurospares? Good Luck!

We are fine thanks Pete.

Santa Cristina Guizzardi has just emailed me today (about something else) but mentioned that she'd be away from 01.08.08 to 18.08.08 - I expect that there might be others there but, as ever, Sant'Agata is a 'shut' as anywhere in Italy in August...

'Get a new system fitted Pete' would be my suggestion - any replacement with another of the original ones will (ultimately) have similar problems, a modern fit would be a) better and b) better and c) probably have a less clunky-looking key fob as well...

You are probably right. The original fobs are the same as some old mercedes ones. Big square thingys, not too attractive. Probably not got the choice anyway. Serpi Star went bust years ago apparently.

If so, I'll probably do both cars as I hate asymetry. Still dealing with having two different colour cars. Must be a touch of OCD.
