Lambo's wanted for childrens hospice event on 14 sept

We need 4 Lambo's for a charity event in aid of Little Havens childrens Hospice. Little Havens looks after terminally ill children and offers support to families. So it's a great and worthwhile cause.

It's a ride in a ferrari, lambo day around Fords Dunton track near Basildon in essex.

Can anyone spare a day?

This new event is now in the final stages of planning and here is an update.

This is not a Ferrari exclusive event; it is for Lambo, Ferrari, Ford GT and a few special by arrangement cars.

The event starts at 10.30am on Sunday 14thSeptember that is giving rides around the track and ends at 4.30pm.

If you arrive anytime after 9.00am, you will be given the opportunity of practicing on this banked track that is very different to a normal flat track.

When you arrive (see directions below), be careful as there are a number of speed bumps after you enter the Fords Dunton Area – I strongly suggest a slow approach.

Please check your insurance – most of you will be aware of track day restrictions.This is not an MRSA approved track and it is unlikely that your insurance will cover you. You may be able to obtain specialist insurance but that is expensive and I am not going to worry. You will be asked to sign a waiver for the organisers and you will be given and fitted with a wrist band, without which you will not gain access to the test track. Passengers will also be required to sign a waiver and be fitted with a wrist band. Crash helmets will not be necessary and are not required.

Eight cars at a time will be on the track and drive 2 laps approximately 4 minutes total. If we feel we can increase this to 3 laps a ride, we will do so. No overtaking will be permitted and a maximum speed of 90 mph has been suggested
The track will be managed by marshals with flags. The reality is that with 8 cars on track, this will act as a brake and extreme speeds won’t be possible. Fords will stop any excesses but as we will have passengers, we will not want to terrify them.

When returning to the unloading area, the marshals will be waiting to help passengers out. You can then return to the new passenger area or go to the adjacent area for a break.

Each ride will be charged to passengers at £25.00 and we expect to do 250 – 350 rides during the day. We are restricted as only 8 cars can go on track at a time.

Would you be kind enough to cut and paste your CS name and car type to confirm that you will attend or delete if you are unable to commit. 100 tickets have already been sold to staff at F.M.C. so it promises to be a great day as there are many other attractions.

We have 7 cars from Essex FOC and need 32 minimum in total up to 40 max. If we are struggling for numbers we will have to ask for other types of cars but I think being oversubscribed is more likely.Places will be given on a first come first served basis so please only confirm if you are sure to come bar serious unforseen problems

I'd love to help out but it's the second day of the Annual Lamborghini Club UK event.

AND I've got at least some of the electrical gremlinos sorted out

AND it's dry (!)

...Then I will be up for it - alas there are so many uncertaintites in there that from your organisational point of view, it makes me hugely unreliable!


I'm not too worried from an insurance point of view - being wisely restricted to 8 cars at any given time with no overtaking and limited to 2nd gear, makes it a pretty safe prospect (and WAYYYYY tamer than the On Your Marks day which was quite seat of your pants! lol)

Damn, Well lets hope they will let us on the test track next week. That was a laugh last year. I will try and stay later this time before I have my 250 mile drive back

Apologies. Error on my part. I got side tracked into other things.
