I have driven both only in hardtop. To be honest its all a personal preference, I like the image of Lambo and the sound of the G. However the 430 is a more capable car, but would say the 560 will probably be more advanced than the 430(not driven a 560 so can't say).

Regarding depreciation I never factor that in because I personally buy the car for enjoyment not an investment. Ferrari do typically hold there value better though.

Best thing to do is to go for a test drive and go with your gut feeling. I'm getting a Murci next feel it has what I am looking for.

Good Luck,

C

IMO
Ok so if you start with the convertibles:
The Ferrari is clearly the better built car – it just feels more solid but not by much
On the other hand the Gallardo Spyder is just so much better looking and sounding
TBH the performance differential between the two is marginal so I would choose the Lambo in a wild colour – unless you are going to be taking the car on long trips around Europe where you will suffer with the Gallardo postage stamp sized storage.

Between the GallardoSL and 430 Coupe – you really need to try each one out – they are very different to drive – and it’s a very personal choice. The SL makes you feel like you are in a really closed in racecar – the 430 feels much more like a normal car (just faster).

I’ve now sold my 430 (and are still waiting for my Scuderia) but when I had it I didn’t really have a preference between the Ferrari and Lambo except in the rain or snow where the Gallardo has better grip.

As people have said, you need to try them all to really make a choice and don’t forget that a 430 spider in red with soft cream electric seats and rubbish brakes is a very very different car from a black 430 with race seats, 4 point harnesses, Carbon brakes and black wheels in both driving performance and image.

In the old days you would have said the when it came down to cost (ie depreciation) the Ferrari would have been the natural choice.
Not sure that’s so clear now.

loads of stuff i agree with including "the 430 feels much more like a normal car"
that's sort of what clinched it for me
[flameproof suit on]if you want technically the best designed and built car for your money, you're probably better off with a 911[/flameproof suit on]
if you want a really crazy fun car, then the dark side beckons

As you have included the SL in your list why not consider a CS?
