Hi folks. One or two people have been asking if we can do this again.

I've provisionally got something booked but need to see if y'all can make it. Last time it was Corvettes vs Porsches vs TVRs, but it'd be good to have some of you gentlemen involved.

It would be on the morning of Friday 12th September, with £180 covering:
- bacon butties & coffee
- target rifle shooting at the 1000 yards range(!)
- clays on the Commonwealth Games facility
- black powder pistol (like a musket, but a pistol - great fun)
- lunch
- prize for the winner
- coaching from international shots
- the opportunity for a razz after lunch - last time it was over to Racing Green to see the interesting classics they have there.

Everyone seemed to enjoy it last time. Who's up for it? Please can you let me know in the next couple of days? I'll need to confirm the bookings.

Matt

Target shooting at 1000yds - dumb question - do you get some sort of telescopic scope thinggymagic?

Could possibly be up for this.

I have trouble seeing the pin on a par 3 ! So a bulls eye at 1000yds is pushing it...

you'd be surprised - plenty of folk with glasses shoot well

the aiming mark ("the black") at 1000 yards is a 4-foot wide circle; much easier to see than a golf pin in my experience

sorry folks - as I think you guessed, not enough people signed up this time for us to be able to run the day

can try again in the spring if there's interest, or even in October if you tell me you want to

£50 says the Corvette camp's first shot at 1000 yards is more central than that of the Lambos... especially if it's windy...

hmmm... a world champion on his home range vs. someone who thinks a .50 cal bullet would destroy a 6' x 10' target... I wonder... yeah I think I'd better give up right now rolleyes
