Not the cheapest bit of kit, but affordable and by God does it stick well. Had it on the window at work all afternoon with some decent weight on it and it hasn't shifted and inch. Seriously.

Going to try it on the car when I get home but it looks superb and should more than hold the camcorder. I can feel some youtube footage coming on!

Hey I got something like that too. They're fantastic! Although I've not dared to try it mounted externally yet!

I've got one of those same mounts sat on my desk at the moment. I've borrowed it off pher nurburgring1 who bought it to use on his 911 in the Alps. intend to do the same next week. IIRC he used it on the outside just the once because when he pulled up to check it it came off really easily, as though it had been losing it's suction.

I tried it first and it came away very easily after a short period.

Then tried it after wetting the ridge around the suction cup and it hasn't budged at all. Got my backpack hanging off it and it weighs a few kilos...

Be careful when you stick it on the car. I've got the same one and it fell off when I was doing 60mph on a cold day. You need to get the rubber really warm so taht it sticks properly.

I leave the engine running and put it on the grill. Even then, I'm still not too comfortable with it. Also make sure you strap it on to thecar.

I've since got a sticky pod which in my opinion works much better. It has 4 suction cups and you don't have to keep pumping it either.

Also the track day organisers won't allow suction mounts I recall.

Has to be a mechanical fixing.
