Hi there

My mate is buying a Diablo, is he mental or what? I tried to talk him out of it but oh no he wouldnt listen. How often do they break down, as I dont like waiting for recovery trucks?

Look forward to your responces so I can forward them on to him.

Diablo won't fit on most recovery trucks so I'd take sandwiches and a drink if you go for a ride in it. silly

You should be trying to convince him to buy, rather than not

When was the last time you saw a broken down Diablo on the side of the road?

What model is he looking at buying? either way it doesn't matter... the Diablo line is the sexiest line of cars ever produced in my opinion and no matter what problems occured - I could live with one any day!

All the owners are ghey and girls hate them.

They're slow as f|_|ck too...

Totally overrated.

You come to a Lamborghini enthusiasts site to get help in talking your mate out of buying a Diablo confused
Ain't gonna happen my friend. The Diablo, like any Lamborghini IMHO, is a peach of a car and your mate is doing absolutely the right thing. You only live once and your friend is clearly the type who intends to make the most of his time on earth.
If you were a real friend you'd tell him to get the car and live his dream, then you'd go buy a recovery truck so you can help him out if he does have a problem wink

Why would you not want him to buy one? If you're so concerned about break downs then you shouldn't buy one, but this situation has the benefit of you not having to worry about that sort of thing confused

I have owned on an off a Diablo for many years. I have only broken down once and that was due to a stupid little clutch linkage that cost me £15.00 to replace. These cars providing they are used and serviced once a year will be more reliable than if you leave it in the garage and just look at it. In the 26 years that I have owned Lamborghinis the only serious breakdown was in an Espada. Ensure that you buy a Diablo with history and usage and not one that was bought for show with little or next to no mileage on it.

Hope this helps. John

5 reasons not to buy a Diablo

1. Diablo translates into the Devil. So if he is a religous person it wouldn't be a good idea to get one. Unless he has 666 tatooed on his head.

2. If he gets the Diablo, he'll have to start wearing big gold medalions and get blonde highlights.

3. By stretching to close the drivers door all the time, he'll end up with one arm longer than the other. An affliction commonly refered to as Lambo Lever Arm.

4. He will get tired of constanly being asked if it's a kit car.

5. Parts are getting very expensive now. In fact if you add the prices of all the parts together it will cost more than a Reventon. There is a reason why it's caled a Diablo....you have to sell your soul to get the parts for it.

Hope the above helps.

Well its been purchased, and my god what a car, its full on hard as nails car. Couldn't believe the attention it had, and people with their phones taking pictures, people lowering their windows just to hear the sound, to comments from asbo people saying 'respect'.

The climate system in it has a mind of its own, but thats a minor issue.

And above 4000 rpm, i have never experianced a sound like it. And very little gearchanging is required to the shear grunt of the motor.

Happy days
