how to figure out the 'value' of a 360?
Discussion
Seems to be a big spread of values on 360s at the moment (even on ones at dealers that appear, to me, to be quite similar) and I was wondering what really affects the value of the car?
I assume F1 and/or being a Spider increase value, mileage appears to need to be very low (4-5k/year) or it gets hit quite hard and 'not red' is probably (I guess) minus a few grand.
Was all set on a 911 turbo and then had a look at a Nero Daytona F1 04 (16k miles) car with a tubi yesterday (or rather had a listen
)
I’ve been building to the (slightly) more sensible option of a 911 (it has rear seats for the kids!) which means I have done little research on 360s but the noise and feeling of being inside the 360 has shaken things up a bit.
After a bit of searching (here and google) I've not managed to come up with a 'buyers guide' (found ones for F355 and 456) and I'm sure there must be one around somewhere...
Out of interest, how have people found the official warranty? I'm all too aware of the costs involved day-to-day but are they happy to stand by the engine and F1 box if there are problems?
Is it renewable (for a reasonable amount) after the first year?
My head is coming up with all sorts of reasons that having one as a day-to-day car (and parking it in a local multi-storey now and again) is a really bad idea. And then I remember the feeling of having that NOISE behind me as I blipped the throttle...

As an every day car I imagine a porker will win every time.
But get a 360, they are great. I got a yrs warranty when I bought an 04 spider last year. I got a new air flow meter and the front ball joints replaced just before the warranty expired. I was quoted £3.5k by my f dealer to extend the warranty into a fifth year, which I declined. Servicing seems to be approx 3 x the cost of similar works on my mates porker, a 6 k / annual services comes in at £900, if you are in for belt changes etc then it can get a lot wilder unless you go the unofficial route, which I must admit is sorely tempting as I plan holding on to my spider for some time.
I use mine for thrashing on fine days and firing over to the West Coast, although I have taken it into town on the odd occassion. On the spider, reversing is blind, and its a wide car for parking bays etc.
Get a scrapper for everyday use but do get a 360, they are great. Black seems to be fine on resale, siver and light blue can stick about but should be cheaper to pick up. I have a manual and cant comment with experience on the F1, but I understand early models were jerky and needed software upgrades and later ones were ok.
