I've been looking closely at prices over the last few weeks with a view to purchasing early next year - from what I've seen around at the moment the good ones of that colour/year are around 45k give or take a couple of grand.

Having a vested interest in 355 values I think most folk with a good 355 Berlinetta would settle for about 40k if they were really looking to sell. Might ask for a bit more, probably not sell for much less. Different for one of the less good cars perhaps.

If the owner has just spend a shedload sorting out bits and pieces and its a genuinly nice car I wouldnt miss it for a couple of grand if I were you...........you will get it back at the other end, and these cars are as low as they are going to go imo

We havent hit the bottom of the 355 market, there is further to go. We are living in unusual financial times which will have a significant effect on luxury car market. Anyone who thinks that prices will do anything but drop is out of touch with reality.

Totally agree. But at selling time, the advantage of owning a "good" 355 is that there are less good cars out there and anyone looking to buy, and doing a bit of homework, will see that. I certainly don't think the prices of good 355s will go up in the short term, (perhaps not in any term) but I do think the spread in price between good and bad will widen. Obviously everyones circumstances are different in respect of buying and selling but in response to the original query, I think 40k(ish)is in the right ballpark for a good car. smile

Just got back from seeing the car mentioned, it was a nice car, still needed bits doing to it, ie small ammount of paint, engine bay clean etc... I made a pretty fair offer it think, we were only £700 apart in the end, seems silly, but it just wasn't quite as good as i'd hoped for! When your spending the best part of 40k, its gotta be right, and as mentioned, prices certainly aren't gonna be going up in the forseeable future.
