Anyone know this 348? I'd like to view it in a couple of weeks but any help/tips would be grateful. Also, has anyone been to see it yet?

Owner seems to be a PH'r but no posts

Don't know the car Shiraz but a couple of things of note.

The interior is quite shabby, as is the engine bay. Not awful, just shabby.

If it has had so much loving and professional care lavished on it, why are the rear wheels on the wrong way round?

But most interestingly, although tempted to be side tracked by the lady in wellies, what the hell is it doing with an 02 plate on it? !

Here's what the interior should look like. Mine is a '93 with very similar miles bought for less money in January.

I agree. In fact, the whole car looks shabby and does`nt look as though it has been as professionally kept as the owner would like to think.

As long as it's sound mechanically and bodywork wise, the engine bay and interior would give me something to work on, so wouldn't altogether mind that. However I hope it's not indicitive of the whole car! (I ran a background search on the owner, and he appears genuine.) Yours looks like one tidy 348! My ideal one would be crema/white interior - would remind me of my old car too much otherwise and want a slight change.

This is why I'm tempted, and to bring her properly up to scratch. I don't mind negotiating the price down, and then spending the extra at verdi/Rardly etc to bring it up to spec/standard. I just want to know mechanically and bodywork wise it's in order.

There's another 348 that was for sale - http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/645810.htm - that had it's handling tinkered with (improved). Spoke to the owner a while back, so may view that one as well the same wekend if it's still for sale. I think Buriana offered Talkwrench's services if I do as it's a little further North than hoped!

Agree, engine bay and trim can all be refurbed ... it's how it has been previously cared for to get in that condition in the first place.

I've switched tract again - getting nervous feet! I only want to buy if 100% confident about and have trust in the seller as well.

So far the choice is between:
- a tidy/fettled 348
- WalkerSport-Oswestry (probably a 328 as I want a cash reserve and not sure about the silver 355)
- A black or chrome orange Exige S!

It's so hard to find any fezza in the right condition and to have an ok transaction - at least at a decent value. We'll see. I'm away for a week so will decide then what to do!

Well, the Lotus is certainly the odd one out. Good fun cars but nowehere near the same league as an F car.

There are some decent 348s out there but I think they are getting harder and harder to come by. For a 355 in as good a condition you are probably talking £10k more.

I presume you are checking on Clubscuderia.com ?

I sold my 92' (Motronic 2.7 / battery in front) with less mileage and massively better engine bay/interior condition for 21K a couple of months ago. It's now in France.

Elise/Exige is great if you are going to do lots and lots of trackdays, but it doesn't match the sense of occasion of a Ferrari when on public roads.

I don't think your'e going to find a perfect 348 now. Mine was in good condition 3 years ago and I still spent the best part of £10,000 making it better than new, but then I'm a bit pedantic. If you like to mod cars and upgrade bits, then the 348 is the best Ferrari to do it with.

Never driven a 328, but one of teh most beautiful Ferrari's ever made in my opinion. Surely to go up in value soon???
