F430, manual, any colour but red. They're about 85-95k now for a low mileage 05/06. How much by April 09???

When the 360 was current they used to stay level over summer then drop 10k over winter and hold that price over the following summer. Also factor in the release of the California and those that will be trading their 430 for the latest and greatest. So possibly 75k upwards or dare I say less?

New cars with good option specs are available from Ferrari main dealers at less than basic list. I know, I have recently bought one. I am also well aware that prices are only headed one way and I could probably have waited and got one cheaper but as I am more interested in value than price that doesn't really concern me too much. By way of illustration here is a slightly edited extract from an e mail I sent to a friend in NZ..

".......... It’s early days and the engine has to be run in at below 5,000 rpm for the first 600 miles. (it redlines at around 8250) They are just about up and if the weather weren’t so awful I would be out there right now rather than in here typing this.

On sitting in the car I think the first thing that strikes is how comfortable and welcoming the cabin is. Light airy, good visibility, controls to hand, loads of leather and hand stitching, drilled metal pedals all add to the ambiance. Switch on with ignition key, computer runs through checks, foot on brake, press red starter button on the steering wheel and the thing barks into life then settles down to a fast V8 flat plane crank tick over. One or two pops and bangs in the exhaust just to let you know its not a Porsche 997 TT. Handbrake off, foot on brake, pull right paddle to engage 1, foot off brake and it eases forward like a Camry auto. Left to its own devices it will happily change gear on its own, so pottering along the High Street we do just that. Stop at end to turn right and it will already have changed back down to 1st for the pull out. Quietly out through the village to let temperatures and pressures build up and stabilise. At say 35 mph it will probably have automatically selected 4th. Press Auto button to deselect auto mode. Pull left hand paddle shift and it will drop into 3rd with an automatic blip of throttle. Press accelerator and there is a bark of exhaust and a fair bit of intoxicating induction roar, rev counter spins to 5000rpm, right paddle to 4th leaving foot on throttle, , foot still on throttle paddle up to 5th, 5000 rpm and into 6th and ease off as we are now doing (*** edited for legal reasons) and we don’t want to exceed the speed limit. Sharpish corner, two flicks of left paddle with synchronised auto blips of throttle and we are powering out through the exit in 4th, into 5th.........what’s not to like!

It has carbon ceramic brakes, front and rear parking sensors, red calliper, electric seats, scuderia shields and an iPod connection and I got it new fully optioned from a Ferrari main dealer at a significant discount to basic list, what more can you ask for...."
