Cleaned the car yesterday, everything lovely. Drove to the supermarket, parked in the car park, quite a way from the shop, came out 20 mins later, drove straight home, got out and noticed a pretty scary dig on the top of the left wing. It's gouged right through to the metal. If it had been a stone hitting the car I'm certain I would have heard it, looks like somebody has walked past and whacked it with something. If they have then the best I can wish for them is that they stay exactly the bitter, twisted, little-dic*ed f*ckhead they so obviously already are.

But I digress.

Question is, who should I get to sort it out? I'm in Essex. Would those Dent Repair outfits be okay for a 430? Don't mean that in any snobbish way but just not sure if they are geared up for something like that. I've had the car less than 2 months and I didn't really want to get into a full detailing yet. Any recommendations?

Ta.

Brad,

One of my best mates has his own body shop. I have used him for many years to repair a whole host of issues, dent, scratches etc. He has done work on my Gransport, Cayenne and once rebuilt the whole rear 3/4 of my 22B Impreza (which had an argument with the tyre wall @ Cadwell Park once), which you could not get hold of a replacement as they were hand made! He has also sprayed my mates plane in silver metal paint that you can see your face in (very cool). He also has a contract with BMW for repairs.

So if you want to get his details, PM me and i'll send you them.

He is Billericay/Dunton/Horndon area if you know that.

Otherwise contact Lancasters in Colchester but they will charge ;-)

Thanks guys.
I got the car at Lancaster Colchester so I s'pose I ought to try them first and see how <cough> expensive they are?
Billericay is right on my doorstep Stu that that would be next choice.

My girlfriend has since had a look at the damage and said "It's not too bad." Strange how people have different perspectives, I could spot it from outer space.

Your not the luckiest man on the planet are you? Lol.

Bus driver wiped his hand down your car, RAV 4 required you to remove the keys and throw them and now its been bashed!

What a shame...

Yeah, I'm really feeling your sympathy.
TBH - notwithstanding my comments about a possible vandal - I'm really not that bothered about this, the car is way too impressive to let something like this spoil it. And I do expect to pick up some damage while I have it, I'm not going to garage and forget it, I'll drive it where I want to go and leave it there if I have to. If someone takes a pop at it I'll just get it fixed, life's too short to live it around other peoples failings.

hehe. "Just f*ck off everybody with a bad attitude!!!" That's what I say.

And it was a Shogun, I think.

/And just a quick edit to say, business is booming and I'm driving about in an F430, I reckon I actually *am* the luckiest man on the planet!/

I had a bit of bother with my Fezza last year and Chaplane (01206 853322 C04 QX) in Colchester did the repair. They specialise in Porsch Bentley Fezza etc and did a superb job on my car. They are a few hundred yards from Lancasters service site but I dont think there is any link.

Try sending an email to Andy 308GTB. I know he and Hussman use a guy in the Ipswitch area that does a good job and is competitive.

BTW it turns out that I work with your neighbour Mark.

Spot on... when the front end of my 308 got whacked by a lump of metal on the M11 a few months back, doing a nice job of knackering the fibreglass spoiler - a mate dismissed it as a 'large stone chip'. When I looked at the car, all I could see was cracked & chipped fibre glass.

On the recommendation of Phil Brett I removed the spoiler and took it to Brewsters who did a fine job repairing it. (Phil - I never got around to thanking you for that biggrin)
