F1 360, missing history...
Discussion
Sorry, more questions from me!
So I've seen a F1 which I think is perfect.
It is however missing some history, nothing between 03/05 to 07/07.
Around these dates it has been fully looked after.
The last service was one month ago at Foskers, bill around 5k and it had absolutely everything done, clutch, ball joints, new tires etc.
Cambelt will be done upon purchase. It is a 2000 car with 19k miles.
I would get the car inspected by Verdi, but is this one to be avoided?
On rawa condition etc it looks good.

Makes sense, no point rushing into it.
If anyone has a red 360 for sale with challenge grills and a Tubi exhaust or similar get in touch!
I do, but it's a manual. If anyone has a red 360 for sale with challenge grills and a Tubi exhaust or similar get in touch!
The market is dead, which means you might actually struggle to find a good car - there's a lot of s
te out there, wrong colour, wrong spec, s
t history, due a service, no clutch history etc etc, but unfortunately that pile of s
te dictates the market, so the good cars get ignored because they are priced slightly higher - it also makes a lot of the good cars turn bad, as there's no longer as much value in maintaining the car to the same standard - the market won't ever reward it.My guess is it has not been serviced over this period to save cash but you pay for that when sale time comes. So not lost NOT DONE I think.
IMO Leave well alone wait for right car.
If you don't need a 360 now wait for the winter and you will pay even less.

my guess is that the services WERE carried out but were far too incriminating and as such were destroyed (ie it's been clocked). who in their right mind "loses" a service history on a car like this? i'd still buy it TBH - but would be expecting to pay 30-40% less than normal market value - ie assume it's done 70k miles.

If done by OFC then the service would be on record even if book not stamped. If it is F1 you can interigate the electronics and find the mileage even if it has been clocked, there is an inner part to the brain that cannot be changed without an ECU replacement (as has been mentioned on another thread). Yes if the servicing has been carried out by independents over this period then no records need to have been kept but the brain will still prove mileage.
In current market you only buy the car that you are 100% happy with as loads around to choose so let this particular car go unless the price drops as you have said.

no idea why history is missing, dealer is none to helpful in finding out either as hes confident he will sell it regardless.
The search continues!
There are plenty of 360's about, just hang on in there. And with regards to the dealer, if he ain't helpful, it's his loss, move on, he may well be stuck with it for sometime. The search continues!

Don't tell me, some guy had called about it from the other end of the world and was coming down to see it with cash later that day.The search continues!
If he's not helpful BEFORE you bought it, just imagine what he'll be like if you have a problem after you bought it!
