Ferrari California Live Unveiling Tonight

Ferrari California

The world premiere of the new Ferrari California takes place this evening before its official unveiling at the Paris Auto Show on October 2nd next. The premiere will take place simultaneously in Maranello and LA and Ferrari enthusiasts will be able to watch the event live on the www.ferraricalifornia.com website from 22.00 Italian time.

More than 1,000 special guests from all over the world will watch the presentation of the new car inside the new production line building designed by French architect Jean Nouvel, winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize 2008. Ferrari F1 drivers Kimi Räikkönen and Felipe Massa will be on hand, as will Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo.

Michael Schumacher will also be attending, having been involved since the very earliest stages in the development of the Ferrari California. The Ferrari California will also be presented today at Santa Monica Private Airport, just outside Los Angeles during a ceremony attended by a further 1,000 invited guests.

Why are they getting Schumacher to set it up for track use when they are touting it as an open top boulevard cruiser? Then again, this is Ferrari. But to be frank, this car is pig ugly. Wait for the new Lamborghini concept (whatever it is) to see a proper Italian supercar; dramatic, loud, beautiful.

president luca di montezemolo gave a very good speech and also slaughtered mclaren in the process of that refering to the spygate incident to the applause of the crowds !
