OK, having now driven 2 cars, a manual and an e-gear, I've decided that I like the e-gear. Not the choice for all, but I like it.

Have been offered the following, but am asked to make a decision quickly, as someone else is interested - yes, that old chestnut.

OK, Gallardo Coupe e-gear 2008 (08 plate), White, white and black leather, 1.5K miles, Branding pack, yellow callipers, Callisto Titanium, Sat Nav, Bluetooth.

So, is anyone prepared to help me join the club with thoughts on pricing? I know, a bit like the old "how long is a piece of string" and "it's worth what someone is prepared to pay" - but a few pointers would be very greatly received.

Not on the edge with the finances, but don't wish to pay over the odds either.

Cheers, Mark

Best advice I'd say would be to find another car that you're happy with the spec for and throw them both in a ring together; see who comes out lowest.

Somewhere around 115k, I would guess.

Don't you think it's a good idea to hold out for a bit whilst the LP560 becomes more prominent on the market. Gallardo's are going to drop like a fresh turd when the new one is released...

Hi got your PM. When I've been looking at cars I've heard that "somebody else is travelling down to see it tomorrow line" on maybe 50% of occasions. Don't feel pressured, there is always another car to buy.

I think I know the car your after, had a look at it myself but would prefer manual. I would knock at least £10k off what they're asking as a start, although if it's same car, does seem like a decent price.

Was the manual you were looking at same age/price range? If so, any chance you could tell me where it is...? Thanks

No, the manual was a 56 plate spyder - lovely car, just can't see myself in a spyder. The one I am looking at is in Edinburgh, if it's the same one, and I just happen to be travelling there today for a mates 40th. Will have a gander, and see what I think.

There are others that I am considering aswell. None quite as striking as the white one though (but only seen in pictures so far). All depends on the deal, I guess - under 3years old, very tidy and looked after.

Do you all really think prices will crash so far because of the LP-560, or did you mean the new one we are seeing jigsaw pictures of?

Cheers, Mark

For sure when the 560's start standing on the forecourt you can expect the older one to drop a fair whack off it's value. Of course the more you put into a G now the more you will stand to lose come trade in. It's the same with any car! If it was me in your position, I wouldn't be looking at spending nearly top doller on an outgoing model just now.

But hey its your money so you spend it how you like!

for similar have you not considered a SL? I would think they would hold their value better and there is one in Bentley Edinburgh, for 115K, which looks like great value.

Isn't the new LP560 a great big chunk of money more than the old model though? I don't think it will have a worse effect on the current residuals than what's already happening in the economy.

To all who have helped over the last couple of weeks - thanks.

I will be collecting my new car on Thursday afternoon, all being well.

Not quite sure how to post a pic, so anyone able to help on that, I will gladly show off my new toy!

Cheers, Mark
