Countach 25. Anniv reg. G989 VJD
Discussion
Does anyone here own or know of the owner of black 25th Anniv originally registered G989 VJD?
Was going through some old stuff yesterday and found a full page article from The Sun (published in 1991) about the car and its original purchaser. The article is full colour and includes a half-page sized photo of the car.

Not mine I’m afraid, the original plate on my car was G539UYF. I’m sure David Price will know!
you'd think wouldn't you...Daniel M's car was originally an 'F' plate up until he bought it.
The old Club records show that a black Anniversary reg. G990 VJD was owned by a chap called Ken B**** who lived up the road from a mate of mine in Chiswick back in the mid 1990's. That car is listed as having a black interior as well.
I've a slight idea that either of these cars (which may actually be the same one, things are/were like that...) may well have belonged to Lambrano 1 a few years later, in which case it's probably still in the UK at least but was with quite a different plate by then...
We have the chassis and engine numbers for G990 VJD - perhaps the OP could check with the newspaper staff who were working on the article back then for comparison - Shirley they'd remember those numbers? No?... Thought not!
So, chances are that this is the same car or perhaps it was just next in the vast numbers (hahahahahaha) of Countach stock sold by Portmans Lamborghini, the then importers.
Ken B**** isn't a current LCUK Member, in fact I think he's not been with the Club for over 12 years as I've never seen his name on our database since I first got such trusted and honoured access - which is why he'll just have to stay as 'Ken B****' for now at least!
The first owner was a chap called Charilaos Costa who barely had a chance to drive the car before the collapse of his clothing business upon which he fled the UK after to Cyprus from where he could not be extradited. There were questions asked about him in parliament at the time (he was a crony of Neil Kinnock). Quite possibly the arrest warrant on him still stands.

Was that PollyPeck?I know this thread is VERY old... however, I'm sitting at my office desk with several photos of this exact car in front of me. When I was a teenager back in the 80's/90's I used to live in Kirby Muxloe, Leicester and this vehicle was owned by a neighbour. The owner was an Italian guy who owned a company called Mondo Metrology in Braunstone. One day whilst slobbering over the vehicle from behind the company fence, the owner invited me in to check it out! I'd be really keen to see a copy of the article in the Sun. If anybody would like copies of my photos - let me know!
there was 2 anniverssarys owned by a family friend of ours in scotland. he had a red one which was on display for a few years in Doune motor museum and a black one. Asd they were not registered at the time back in 1989, i dont know the reg numbers. first owner would begin with a Mr P in Scotland. Wonder if these cars are still in the UK?

Nope, that was Asil. He definitely didn't have a Countach otherwise I would have blagged a ride in it.I was in negotiations to buy a black Anniversario from David Cook some years ago...I wonder whether this was that car? At the time Daivd had fitted a Miura seat to increase headroom...
