Maserati 3200 manual - clutch issues?
Discussion
I am on the very edge of buying a 3200 in the next couple of days.
I've read what I can find here and elsewhere - but I've heard rumour of weak clutches making city driving a liability.
As a TVR Tuscan owner I'm used to driving an unforgiving car through rush hour traffic - and I've replaced the odd clutch
...can anyone give me any advice on the everyday useability of these cars?
Cheers,
Chas.

I drove a manual 3200GT for two years and never had a prob in city driving. When I first got the car, it took about 3 days to get used to the unique feel of the throttle / clutch biting point but easy enough after that. Clutch was heavy (ie leg ache after long periods of pressing!) but all part of the fun.
The accelerator was always more of a problem that the clutch to me, just because of it's sheer "lightness".

agree with 3200gt, the auto with the turbos is a perfect combination
as far as the manual goes, the clutch should not be heavy, a heavy clutch can be a sign of problems with the trust bearing/housing.
go to http://www.maseratiforum.co.uk/ plenty of treads on there about this.

I drive a manual and compared to a TVR T-car it's much easier to drive in traffic. I've read what I can find here and elsewhere - but I've heard rumour of weak clutches making city driving a liability.

However, 1st gear is pretty short and has been mentioned, it does take a while to get used to the fly by wire throttle.
