At the risk of sounding a complete idiot...........
Has anyone ever thought of (or even done) and LPG conversion on the Maser 4200? Just a thought.

Not a silly idea at all. I'd like to do one on my 355, but I dont have anywhere for the LPG tank.

lpg 4200 - great idea smile

I'd love to see one done.

The quality of the conversions these days must be up to the grade.

may affect resale values - i would see a lpg 4200 as a bit 'council estate'

Thanks for being so polite guys;)
Just to give you some idea of my thinking: I've currently got an Elise for sunny day fun and track days so thats the toy sorted. The missus has an A3 tdi which we've had from new and may well run till it dies, so thats the school run/shopping trolley wheels. And I've just bought a cheap Alfa 156 as commuter/urban prang wheels. So there's room for something 'nice'. The special wheels would probably get about 8k miles a year and that's enough to have me worrying about 15mpg. However, given I'd hope to keep the car for 10 years an LPG conversion might make it seem less painfull to run. Resale value? Well after 10 years and 100+k on the clock it would probably be worth very little anyway.
Council House? Nah, not a Maser, far too much class. Old Jags go to council estates to die!

If you're keeping it until it dies (or as near as) then it really doesn't matter one jot what anyone here thinks (except the experienced spanner monkeys) and all that matters is that it 'does it for you' smile

I can think of a LOT of worse cars to keep for 10 years! biggrin

I remember seeing one with an LPG conversion for sale when I was saving up for mine.

I'd probably do it if I could be sure there'd be no engine damage and the installation didn't look 'tacked on'. Main problem though will be the impending increase in duty.
