Countach owners - Classic & Sports Car would like your help
Discussion
Hello All,
The team at Classic & Sports Car is trying to source a clean Countach for display on our stand at the NEC show. We'd prefer an early light coloured car, but ultimately we'd be grateful for any assistance we can get from a willing owner!
The car would be fully insured by us for its time at the show, and we'd need it from Thursday 13th to Sunday 16th/Monday 17th November. We'll meet all expenses associated with getting the car to us, and will happily furnish you with tickets to the show.
If anyone is prepared to help, could I ask you to email me through my profile?
Thanks,
Stuart

If you are looking for a good light coloured car, you can't do any better than giving Carlo at Top Gear Cars a bell.
He has a stunning pearl white 5000QV, which I think is my old car.
Peter,He has a stunning pearl white 5000QV, which I think is my old car.
You are correct to say the car is stunning (a previous LCUK prize winner for most original car a few years ago) but unless you sold it to him 20 years ago, I think your old car must be the other stunning pearl white QV.
I am only aware of two others, one with mint leather interior and the other which appeared in every 80's car calender with reg. 1 8 5EXY.

The QV with the mint green interior was sadly the car in which my friend Michael Proctor died in 1998, just a few weeks after he and I attended a Lamborghini Club France meeting with that car in Normandy.
I'm on record at various LCUK AGMs since then with saying that a lot of the things I do for LCUK are done in his memory.
The poor daft-looking Aussie was only 33 when he died and his loss was a blow at the time for many in the Club and that loss is only slightly lessened, if at all, by the years since.
I think that particular Countach is no more and quite rightly so I'd say, although it was an ace car and Michael was an ace driver.
The accident where Michael lost his life happened when he was again in France and French laws meant the only people entitled to know the outcome of both his autopsy and the engineer report on the car were Michael's parents. To their eternal credit they chose not to be told the outcome of either, since the knowledge would make no difference either to them or to any person or persons who might have been to blame in any way for the accident.
That Countach was indeed very minty inside though and the opening of the door on the passenger side just flooded rain water all over my new Levis after a storm in la belle bloody France on the Saturday afternoon of the LCF weekend after drive following a (very) long lunch. Which Michael thought was very funny, but not as funny as Mrs XXVIII did when he slid the car around a roundabout near Twickenham when showing off to her in passenger seat a few days later... his face was a picture (apparently) as he was apologising profusely - probably scared himself more than her.
Miss you fella, hope the journey on is going well.

ps
there are only two pearlesant white qv's Carlo's car was owned by a man I met in the Bath classic show whose name escapes me , but he had 5-6 countachs and now drives a Ferrari 599. I that rings a bell I am sure saying his name would remind me. I did phone Carlo from the show and he knew that this was the previous owner, so if it's the earlier poster on here then it's your car! If you didn't meet me at the Bath show then it wasn't! lol
