Guys

Looking at selling my Silver 3200 as a part ex against a Gransport to get a quick deal arranged.

What should I expect trade as a rough idea ?

X reg 52,000 miles Main Dealer FSH Manual fitted with Tubi, Tracker, additional alarm system.

Condition is A1 with no faults at this point (that I am aware of) and new tyres all round.

Or should I sell Private and wait for the tyre kickers etc ?

Watching Retail Prices drop - I am preparing to bend over and touch my toes !

Cheers

get some lube and a huge box of tissues.
Recent sale over at maseratiforum got £8x00 for a higher mileage but sound car. There is no market for performance cars, so if you have to sell it is pot luck. Good luck anyway and well done for staying in the game.
As long as you have a job it's business as usual eh? smile

Thanks RS for your reply (-:

I love Maserati's but have wanted a Gransport for a while and prices seem quite realistic for me at the moment.

Im off to Superdrug's tomorrow for the lube and Tissues !

May have to sell private but depends on the deal presented on the table so to speak !

Hi Dave, it's an 06 GS, just under 13k on the clock. Gregio alfieri with bordeaux (dark grey metallic with dark red leather), silver wheels. Grey carpets. It looks gorgeous, I hunted a long time to get the colour & spec I wanted. All the usual GS stuff plus Nav\phone, memory seats, heated seats, full/extended leather inc pleated headlining, parking sensors. (Basically LE spec without the auditorium & dipping rear view mirror).

It had a clutch at 9,500 because they were fitting the updated gearbox bearing under warranty & it would have been mad not to. Tyres about the same time. It just came back from Egham after having a full service & all of it's 2 year items done too (ie aircon dryer, brake fluid, KIS point calibrated etc etc), so as you can see, very well looked after.

It's booked in for it's wheels to be properly refurbished in the next week - FM little aston did them a while back but wasn't a great job & then they took a beating on a trip down to the factory this summer, so they'll be like new.

Message me through the forum or on fade2greyuk [at] hotmail.com & I can send you more details\pics if interested.

cheers.

I traded in my W Reg 3200 to a main dealer back in May (at a time when they were being advertised on Autotrader around £17K - but not neccessarily selling!). Dark Metallic Green, 44,000 Miles, FMSH. Offers were around £10K to £12K then for trade in. I got £12.5K plus some extra off the new car (at the beginning of the used car price slump). My traded in Mas was subsequently sold on to a local dealer and is still sat on Autotrader now 7 months later. It's not like it's a terrible example of a 3200GT or anything (I had 2 years of spending whatever was needed on that car, and receipts to prove it) they're just not selling.

Prices will have to drop again inorder to shift them.
People seem put off by the reliability of them as when they go wrong they can cost a lot of money .

Ah well! Why are the automatics so much more popular than the manuals? I've really never been tempted to buy an automatic car...

Hello, new here and feeling a bit out of place amongst the well-to-do.

Nevermind smile

Anyway, have seen prices falling below the 10k mark.

How far would prices come down (or not) for a straight 2001 auto (this is what I'm aiming for) ?

Thanks in advance

The way things are out there you can sit back and watch these cars drop even further in price.
Especially when some peoples cash dry up and the service costs mount up !
The down side of course is there may be some bad examples out there.
Put an ad out for trade purchase of these and you will probably get one for around £7.5 k to £8k trade - could be even lower (-;

I see you are in the US, dont know for the US but UK trade prices for that year/model dependant on condition, mileage etc would be 8 - 12k sterling. A local indepantdant doesn't seem to have any trouble selling these for £15K +. Saw two move of his forecourt last weekend.

In the UK actually on and off...

Been reading up here and at Maseratiforums and like the crowd.

Really? 8-12k for a 2001 auto? As you said, I thought they'd be more like 14-16k?

As I said, it really depends on the condition, history, and mileage. There are some real Sh**ers out there which I would only buy to break for parts. Anything selling for below 10K is probably worth more as parts.
I think the ones sold by my local indi last weekend were in the 15-16k region, may have been a year older or so but not sure of the history.
One thing for sure is that it is a hell of a lot of car for the money, assuming you find a good one and not a money pit.

There are definetely genuine, well cared for cars (with recent cambelt, exhaust etc and sub 55-60k miles) just hovering at about £10k. I suspect (particularly those priced higher) have got a little way to fall - in line with similar cars with relatively high running costs (although I don't think it's unfair to say that the running costs of a 3200GT are typically more than most other performance cars in the same current price bracket). There was also recently a £15k one that sold for £10.5k - so I'm told. There are a few rough ones about too, as 3200GT says.
