Hi
I had one and just sold it to a guy who came from Japan to buy it. Simple advice. Buy the best you can affoard! They do rust and ones not well cared for could have issues. Engines are very robust as is cmmon to the 308 and are loads of parts for them for specialists.
Gearboxes likeiwse are tough. But high mileage or abuse or neglect will take a heavey toll so try and see evidence it has been maintained. Dont get hung up on the cam belt thig as it is frankly in modern times a load of crap, reguar oil and filter changes and use is more important.
If the car has been fully restored, one question to ask, is why did it get so bad to need such extensive work?
Accident damage is difficult as the shell is light and fragile!
They all rust in particuar around arches, bottom of doors and at base of A piller. Teh original paint was crap so all cars have had a paint.
Interiors are usually ok, but depends on if leather.
Make sure everything works as is a simple car and simple electrics
Go for a series II and move up to 16'' wheels and tyres but you may need spacers for wheels! I did runing 328 wheels
A good one is a joy to drive and handles and goes beutifully
