Well, it makes a change from leaves on the track! Gives a whole new meaning to 'train surfing'.

Reminds me of a similar problem I had working a crossing a couple of years ago. In my case it stopped the trains running as the water shorted out the 750v 'juice' rails. It's also why none of the work guys wanted to step in the water!!

Yep thats right, I was with my father in law watching the water rising as he owns the yard there, we used the emergency phone and warned them that the line was starting to flood. 20 minutes later the water was getting even higher, I heard the barriers come down I grabbed my phone ran over and nearly st myself when I saw the train coming, it must have been doing 80mph, when it had passed we noticed it had smashed all the timber catle grids, these where now laying across the lines so i rang the operator again who said Oh There is one of our engineers there and he says its ok, tt, they where there 2hours before when it wasnt flooded, we started pulling all the timber out of the way when, fk me I look behind and another bloody train is coming, talk about st your pants twice in one day, luckily the driver stopped.
