Don't worry. Most sensible people would realise that a supercar for silly money isn't gonna be a cracker. I haven't read the article but it's probably the 550 that got sold at BCA Blackbushe with patchy history. You get what you pay for after all!
Its just to sell magazines, but once the general reader finds out those cars only do 14mpg they'll back off anyway.14mpg? I wish

+1That yellow 2000mile Gallardo Spider E-Gear, AND a F430 Spider please...
Imagine buying them and then realising they both need servicing etc. Plus gettinthem detailed etc
On a Serious note;
How would you stond if they missed a time service whilst at the auction? would a good dealer still be ok, or would they be voided, in respect of the Gallardo and 430?
The cheap cars going into auctions are often repossessions due to non payment or have had other finance issues. These cars are often cheap but as noted earlier they often need money spending on them mechanically and cosmetically as most people who have their car repossessed tend not to care about them or spend any money on maintenance.
Pretty much nonsense really wasn't it - the 550 with no history for starters....and were the prices quoted net or gross? Add VAT and premium to hammer prices and you get the true figure...and didn't I see some high mileages too (the DB9 was a 2005 with 40k plus on the click wasn't it?). Then factor in a big service and you find that you are better off with a pedigree car that'll be easier to sell at a later stage.
I am pretty sure that I read a few postings from the chap who bought the 550 on another section of ph- it sounded like a nice thing and I think it did have a history.
Upsetting as it may be I think that the auction prices represent what these types of cars are worth if they have to be sold urgently. As, let's face it how many buyers are out there for cars like this right now - whilst I have no plans to get rid of mine I certainly would not be buying it in this economic turmoil.
