Have anybody here done, or know of somebody who have done a conversion of an early diablo from RHD to LHD or the other way around.

Someone with some technical knowhow one these cars, plese chim in and tell me what you think..

I have tried to look at the parts manual, to make a compare, and As I see alot of parts are the same...

The obvius parts are.

Steering rack
Front dash
Radio and climate control bezel
Shifter bezel
Pedals mounting

Things like, Dash pod with instrument, intermidiate steering shaft, upper dash vents, and door panels should all be the same..

please chim inn

If someone on here are thinkg about a LHD to RHD conversion, let us swap parts...

Or just swap cars? Why do you want to go to the expense of doing this conversion when you could sell and buy again? confused

If you have found the car you want, with all the details you want except the wheel on the wrong side, the obvius would be to convert it.

I think Lars has worked on cars before so if able to convert easily, It might just be worth it but i think its probably a lot of trouble and expense, worth asking though.

Do you ideally want a LHD? See that would be quite interesting for someone else who want RHD as hey could look at a cheaper LHD vehicle and if say for instance you were able to do it and had enough knowledge that made you and them confident then bobs yer uncle. Still though you would be paying a premium for a RHD unfortunately.

Are the bodies set up in such a way that when stripped, holes etc do not need to be cut for the transfer of steering column and pedals etc?

I heard at that LHD Ferraris are better to drive than RHD as the pedal layout is slightly better. Could be the same for Lambos.

I'd put brake servo on the list (at least check it).

Your right, the brake master and servo could be different too, maybe just location...

NO. I just found a RHD one that is like I want, BUT its RHD...

I dont think you would be able to gain anyting price vise or be able to do a good resale.

At the moment Euro prices are stupid so you could make cash, There is a left hooker diablo roadster just like mine in france for £168,000. I'd be pushed to get 80K here at present.

Why do you fancy LHD?

Hi Ya Lars, personally I think it will be far to much aggravation. Have a chat with Mike Pullen at Carrera Sport and gauge his response.

Oh I see Lars, hence you're targeting the UK due to the favourable rate at the moment? Probably be best to hang on and wait for a left hooker to turn up. You know the way it is, if you by a RHD to convert, the following week a LHD will turn up.

Do you have sods law in your country? I'll will apply if you buy from the UK. Definitely best to wait for that LHD.
It will surface.

Do you plan to do the conversion yourself?

I have done work on all my cars. Actually I think that a big part of this job would be to located the parts needed.
