I currently have a 996 GT2 which I love but I will be building a dedicated track car soon so my need for something like this is not so great.

I have also had a Gallardo Spider 07 plate for the last few weeks and have it until end of Jan. I have really enjoyed the car and love the looks. It has a Tubi which is immense.

Its a great road car and I think I want one but I am confused about which year to get.

I want a manual coupe but thats about all I know.

Do all the Gallardos use the same braking platform or was this upgraded somewhere along the line? the 07 car Im driving has nice braking.

Suspension - has this changed? Somebody told me that there were some changes for the 07 cars?

Are there any other model changes between 03 and 05?

Lastly clutch, what is the price for a new clutch? supply and fit?

I looked for a UK Lamborghini forum but could not find one, is there one?

Thanks!

It might seem like I'm taking the pixx but, an '07 spec. manual Gallardo coupe might be what you're looking for...

There is a section of PistonHeads that's reserved for LCUK Members and should you join the Club, you might find some answers there, or else soon enough here, once the rest of the usual suspects on the F,M,L&B thread get a sniff of your question.

Ignore them all, they are all mean gits who will suggest you buy the one you don't want, whatever that might be... I'd be cautious if anybody suggests anything pinkish or with part-worn tyres fitted...

Mind you, who actually owns the Spyder you've been using? Why not make them an offer for the car? Y'never know, the worst that could happen is that they would paint it pink when you weren't looking!!

oh yes, without beating around the smaller foliage, welcome to the dark side, come on in, the water's lovely at this time of year...

Thanks, the water does seem to be welcoming and the dark side beckons the more I sample.

Not sure I want a Spyder as I think I want the extra rigidity a coupe will no doubt offer. A flappy roof is just another thing to go wrong which it did the last time I used it!

Why manual? Mate once you drive the e-gear you wont go to a manual, promise you! Ive owned a Porsche 996 turbo with Tech Art mods and that was a manual and was good till I drove an auto,if youre in the Manchester area then you can have a go in mine!

Cheers Rocco, very kind offer.

I have a CSL so Im not adverse to paddle shift I have just heard horror stories about the E gear clutch and also I like a manual box.

I drove an E gear about 3 years ago on track but only briefly and liked it.

Most, if not all, early cars have had the E revision clutch fitted, so no longer an issue. Lamda sensors can be a problem, had 2 replaced last year and no issues since. Suspension bushes also need replacing periodically, but not expensive. Otherwise they are reliable cars. Had mine nearly 2 years and aside from the sensors, no problems at all - and i use it for the daily commute. Fanatstic cars, buy one !

You want the 06 spec onwards really.... (that includes the SE from 05 as same spec as 06) - shoter ratio gearbox, more bhp more torque, better exhasut sound (if you care) and usually with callisto wheels .... mine has stiffer suspension as its an SE so not as soft as the 06 but SE's had some diff specs on them - ideally though the 06 spec on IMHO is better - have driven both adn MY06 on far more responsive....all MY)6 spec came with sintered E clutch
