Glardo costs are less than that, they are almost down to zero now...

I have friend who works in the city. He has recently lost his job due to the current financial situation..

I am contemplating the purchase of his V10 Lamborghini. I was just enquiring as to the running costs. I feel sure that it will be more than 1.52.

Just the usual PH spelling police. Ignore them.

Plenty of owners on here so I'm sure someone will be along soon with some constructive advice.

Some people seem to get very offended on ph if a post is submitted with poor punctuation etc. I myself couldn't give a shat about such trivia!!smashAs for the daily running costs of a gallardo. As long as the car hasn't been to the moon and back and has a full lambo service history they love to be used on a daily basis and should not cost any more to run than any other performance car. Servicing ranges from 1k to 2k depending on type, And only needs doing once a year,Assuming you're not doing mega miles.

Thank you. I thought so . I have cattle with more manners.

The last time I ran a Lamborghini was in 75 I had a new Esparda MK3.Back then it cost 10k. Turned out to be nightmare with regard to costs.

I have been looking at 560 but they appear to be in free fall.

All cars are in freefall at the moment though newer cars seem to be falling at a much faster rate than ones that are a few years old. There are some bargains out there at the moment but i feel that a few more months waiting is needed just to see what happens to the market. If you're planning on upgrading rather than just getting out then i feel you have nothing to lose by sitting back for a little while.

Thank you, I see that 58 dives a Mx5. I wonder if that is the one with the part leather trim.

As you say most things are in free fall at present. Just looking at getting back into a Super car.

Farming as you say has turned the corner. We have been fortunate with land prices. We have 7000 acres .

A lot has planning permission. Sorry about the spelling errors. Did not realist it would offend. Could not find my glasses.

You won't go wrong with a gallardo!! You could even make use of the 4x4 to plough the odd field if the john deere won't start in the morning. I'm sure lambo spec a pto drive in the options list somewhere!!biglaugh
On a serious note though JUST DO IT!!

But about the deprecation. My friend has just sold his 560 at a massive loss sixty thousand below what he paid it in less than a year.

1 Apologies if you took any offence Bob, it was a cold, painfully bright Sunday up here in Lancashire, as you know and as you are just a few miles from me, I'll not do that again... As you may imagine, I do have the manners of a bull, at best...

2 As you know, the bulk of depreciation for ANY new car will tend to be in the first year or two. In a plummeting 'money value' world that will become an even more exaggerated matter...

If you can find a Gallardo that makes you go... "hmmm, I really think so..." then, if it's just a year or so old, is being sold by an overstretched first buyer in a panic situation and you have the available funds, you could buy the car you want quite easily. As long as it's not coming from a friend who might hold the circumstances of the purchase against you afterwards, you may be OK, if not the hero of the hour when you help your buddy out of the problem...

Even then, the car will continue to devalue of course, but like all Lamborghinis, it will settle to a level where only rank bad maintenance and an uncaring owner would make it worse than that level.

With some older Lamborghinis, that 'level' is rising at this time. Any Countach of a decent standard will be rising in value and any good Miura will be somewhat outside considerations of any normal idea of 'value' that applies these days...

3 Funnily enough, a LCUK member the early 1990's who lives in North Wales contacted me today. He's had his Espada for 30+ years and wants to sell. He says it's been neglected for the last 15 years yikes but he thinks it might still make a good car for someone. I await his pictures and further information soon.

Shame you had a nightmare with your Espada way back when... If you were up here at that time, there can't have been any real way of getting maintenance help locally. At the very least these days you will have Lamborghini Manchester to help out, their reputation is good, they know their stuff!
