Just come up the A6 from Market Harborough to Leicester and on the opposite carriage way the saddest sight.....a black 360 (I'm almost sure it was a 360 and not a 430 but it was hard to tell with the central reservation and the damage to the car) sideways across the outside lane facing the central reservation, just passed the Great Glen roundabout. Looked like the driver and passenger were out ok (which is the main thing) but the fezza looked rather sorry for itself! Obviously don't know what happened but would hazard a guess at lack of adhesion and too much right foot so it just goes to show that even though air temps a bit higher than of late you've got to be really careful. Hope the car's repairable. Recovery was there along with plod so didn't stop but I really feel for the fella, he looked gutted.

Strange you should say that. We broke down in a Countach once (faulty engine management unit, and the only time the car ever let us down) and had to stop on the hard shoulder of the M20 near Maidstone. It was unbelievable how many drivers beeped their horns as they went past.

Couldn't work out why they would want to do that as it is not something I would ever consider doing if I saw someone pulled over on the hard shoulder, no matter what they were driving.

I filled up with petrol at a local, very busy garage in my F430, came out from paying and there was a battery fault, no way of starting it. In the half hour that I waited for the pick-up vehicle I had dozens of glee-filled morons having a good laugh at my expense, I almost came to blows with two d*ckheads who wouldn't shut up. A couple of people did wander over to ask genuine questions and shake their heads in sympathy but the overwhelming majority were relishing it.

Strange country we live in.

Anyway, new battery and everything was hunky-dory. I always go back to the same garage.

My clutch died on a high street in summer, had the hood down and sunnies on! So so embarrasing. Bus drivers honked, one even stopped so the passengers could have a good butchers. One lovely cab driver stopped and gave me a 5 min lecture about the reliability of a Porsche! I was waiting for recovery so was practically stuck, but luckily some boys in blue drove by and gave me a push to the side! Its just shows who your friends really are!

ETA hope the chap in the OP is good if he's on PH and wish the fezza a speedy recovery!

I think its a case of people always trying to make a positive out of a negative. They can't afford an exotic car, so when they see one broken down they feel good and think how lucky they are not to have one as their car is still running.

It's jealousy pure and simple. And this wonderful country of ours becoming full of complete morons.

It's the same mentality that sees nice cars being keyed or otherwise damaged. Doesn't stop at cars either - any nice property seems to be fair game.

The culprits should be neutered - get our gene pool back in order as it seems the imbeciles have reached critical mass.

Really does p1ss you off doesn't it! I had it once in my old TVR Chimaera - fuse to the alternator had blown and in the 45 minutes waiting for the AA I had god knows how many dheads beep their horns and slow down to shout abuse. Strangley I bet they don't do it to the countless rep mobiles etc you see broken down every day.

Back to the original post - I hope all is OK with the 360 owner, all too easy in the current weather to lose it with only a tad too much throttle.

Last year on the way to Le Mans the Murcielago spat its dummy out just outside Le Mans town. Got to say everyone who passed beeped but in a friendly way. A couple stopped to help.

But the best thing about it was that I got on my laptop with dongle, popped onto PH site and posted a HELP, and within 15 mins had 2 highly respected Lambo guru's talking to me giving me valuable advice.

Thank you Pistonheads me thinx!!

Around 2 years ago my Gallardo Spyder Hydraulic pump broke down on Fulham Road right outside the Cactus Blue bar
Totally blocked the road and caused total chaos in the 2 hours it took for the Lambo Assistance guys to get there on a busy Thursday night
Have to say everyone in the bar thought it was very funny as did the police – not quite the same for all the drivers caught up in the chaos but can’t have everything
That’s the only time the cars have ever gone wrong on the roads and no one said a bad word, in fact it was more a question of keeping the drunk girls away from the car
