Hi. On my recently purchased (used) Gallardo the kick plates appear to have some sort of plastic film covering them. The film has peeled/ broken up in parts. Any ideas on removing the remaining film without damaging the plates themselves?
many thanks.

Just pick at it. It will just peel off.

I too will try picking it off. Problem is it is broken up into quite small pieces of film so wondered if there was an easier way than spending ages picking at the small pieces.

try meths, just don't spill any!! normally works on these films if they've degraded and won't harm the metal.

ETA - as long as there's no paint on them which it might damage.

Run over it with a hairdryer first!!

It will save a lot of time.

As said above, gently heat with a hairdryer. It should then come off easily, this is what the fitters do to remove it.

Many thanks. As I am almost completely without hair I will need to borrow said technical equipment. At least it will warm the garage at the weekend!!!
