Discuss!

(Ok... Fight On!) LOL

I guess all depends on how high your excitement threshold is / what pushes your buttons?

To me, anything less than something that's utterly on the edge is just not enough!

Sure, German cars are Reliable and Dependable ("...and lots of other things that end in 'ible' wink ") they are perfectly engineered and have very high performance but they're never going to make me *feel* anything for them!

They all (to me) seem synonymous with bland! I'd rather drive a loopy British Exige, or a face tearingly brutal Sagaris or a mental F50 or an outrageous Testarossa or a 308 designed to be a woman's figure...

I think the best way I can think of, to describe driving my Lamborghini is to draw from elsewhere in my life...

Have you ever dated a drunken, Brazillian model, who's high off her t|ts on ecstasy?!

There is every chance you might get your face torn off in a fit of Latin rage... but if you make it home alive, you're guaranteed the best sex you've ever had in your life!

i seem to remember you feeling quite scared when you drove my M3...
that was before i pushed the sport button and you also asked me NOT to turn off the traction control.

not quite the Brazilian reference (i believe that is an actual experience you've had right?)
but not far off

... Apollo wink

And, be honest, even if it was called 'Barney' would it really matter?

1100kg, 800bhp, 0-60 in well under 3 seconds, I think it's a valid entry into the (admittedly sparse - OP has a point) 'German and exciting' category.

The Apollo must be one of the most exciting cars in the world. The performance figures are just amazing.

If Dr Fish's ecstacy fuelled face ripper was called Gumpert, though, would you?

Hmmm. Yes, actually smile

The Apollo - Hmm... didn't think of that! It's not *entirely* in the spirit of where I was going with this but I made an outrageously sweeping generalisation so it is indeed a fair point well made.

I make one or two observations though...

1) It certainly looks good on paper - indeed that is in part my point - all german cars do. They PERFORM wonderfully! They still leave me cold though! So in this instance, when Diablo Pete chops in all his Lambos for one, we can find out just how exciting it is... but he will have to change his name to Gumpert_Pete HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA

2) It really is a f*ing dog's dinner of a design! It's like plonking Quasimodo next to my Brazilian model and thinking... "I would!"

Audi RS2?!!?!

Are you on crack?!

......says Dr. Robin "supercars must have OUTRAGE" Fish

If that's not an absolute granny scarer, and - yes I'll go there - MORE outrageous looking than your Diablo, I'm a good Christian.

BMW M1 - Not bad but nothing I'd write home about!
Mercedes Gullwing - Indeed the best Mercedes haev evere done... THIRTY YEARS AGO!
Weismann - Not that nice having seen one up close - certainly not pulse heightening
SLR - British it's made in the UK by Mclaren!
Bug Veyron - Errr Bugatti?! and it's a turbo nutter jellymould TT on steroids!
Lambo Murci - Lamborg *cough* who?!
Reventon - Ditto
Carrera GT - Yet another porker.
GT2 - Yet another 911
959 - Yet another 911 with a baboon's ar53!
Original M3 - Ummmmm kinda cool with the Shark Nose smile
a number of Karmann creations.

So we have a 30 year old Merc and a 20 year old M3 as a maybe?

Let me get this straight, you would rather drive an exige (i am a lotus owner) or a 308 than some of the cars mentioned above ??

How the country of origin can make you dismiss so many obviously great "drivers" cars is beyond me. If you just do not like Germans then say so. Lets be honest there are some god awful cars from every country.

I hope you are writing tongue in cheek, otherwise I think you are talking total sh*te.

and Lamborghini/Bugatti are owned by who?...the new ones are German, it's as simple as that. (and i dont think thats a bad thing)

I chose the porkers with care, the GT2 will behave very much like your ex.

the Gumpert as previously mentioned is also as mad as they come..if you're not excited by it you're dead.

it only takes one car to be exciting for the sweeping generalisation to be proved false.

and thats without talking about the tuning houses of Brabus, AMG, Alpina etc

Ahhhhhahahahha!

I never met a German person I didn't like. I've dated a few too tongue out

and Yes - I'd DEFINITELY rather drive an Exige or 308 than most of the cars above.

If I had Arabian levels of moey they would definitely be on my ownership list... I'd love to have them

None of the Detsche-Wagens would be they fill me with... nothing! That's just it - I don't feel hatred towards them. I know they are great cars (as I said in my initial post)

Yet I feel no *excitement* towards them!
