Just a few photos of the GTR SuperTrophy racing in 2001 - with shots from Monza, Spa, Magny Cours and (there will be) Donnington

I will post some video later - because you have to hear these things - and see the flames out of the straight through exhausts when they back off - it's awesome.

There might be somebody claiming to have a road legal Diablo GTR in the UK but there has only been one actually built by the Lamborghini factory.

It's on sale at www.mistraldreams.com near Verona and it can be acquired for €210,000 which is cheap...

You can see the advert and the not-that-big-really pictures half way down page 3 of the adverts.

The proprietor is a good friend of Valentino Balboni and has the car on some kind of Italo-German s-o-r with the owner who lives in Germany.

Apparently the main concession to road-worthiness is a fitted satnav... and what appear to be original Murciélago wheels. There's some swappable red bits inside the car but it also comes with carbon slices instead if you want...


The principle of the MRi team has a Diablo GT which has a GTR badge on it - it was part of a 'special' deal when buying the car/racing the series... that's the full extent of it's R-ness though I believe.

Anjum, thanks for sharing these pics. It made me remember seeing these as a kid at Donnington. I still remember the noise at the start and as you say the flames on the overrun! I think this is what triggered my love for lambos!! There was a mint pink/purple diablo roadster parked in one of the team tents that weekend too,I must dig out the photos from that event..
