Guys/Gals

I have just had a set of dampers & springs fitted to my Gallardo by the same company that does the suspension on my race car. My car was used as a "Mule" to design & test them and I got a good deal so I was hoping to post up their name and a bit of feedback to give them a bit of exposure on a public forum.

Would there be any objection from the mods to this please?

Cheers
Russ

Cheers Scott - I did track the car for a year or so but got fed up with the brakes dying on me after 3 laps. She now gets treated more gently as a five - year - old - out - of - warranty car.

Mine is a very early car which had the old type dampers prior to Lambo changing. They have always felt very choppy on the front end over low speed undulations. Funnily enough we have gone up on the spring rates but the ride is now far superior - as good as the Gallardo Spyder.

what's the solution to the braking issue? Lack of cooling? I assume you can get Brembo, Alcon or Performance Friction upgraded discs with Pagid pads? Are the OEM calipers up to the job?

Engine and gearbox tough enough for trackwork?

I think upgraded calipers are what is required. I was told that because there are four pads in each caliper (a la Audi RS6) the heat does not dissipate well enough and quickly overheat. There is an expensive upgrade which I could not bring myself to splash out on for the odd track day - the standard set up is more than capable in normal/fast road use.

As for the engine and box - they seem more than up to a few track days a year although if the motor went pop out of warranty I suspect you would be well into the twenty or thirty grand mark.

To be honest I could do Oulton faster in my Exige and have more fun but the Lambo is more of an occasion on a road trip - it has been to Le Mans a couple of times.

Hi Mate,

It looks like no one is complaining so here goes:

http://www.nitron.co.uk/

Speak to Guy or any of the lads there - they are all experienced in the field.

I think they are looking at around £1500 plus vat for a set with fitting and a full geo on top of that.
The ride is transformed and with some of the older Gallardos out there approaching six years old I reckon you would be amazed by the difference.

They can be contacted on 01993 849449.

Cheers
