Just wondering if anyone knows the 45k miles car they have for £22k
Seems to have been around for a while, but looks tidy in the pictures.
Anyone been to look at it?
Good dealership?
Being based in the Midlands, it's a long way to go to be disappointed.
Any comments will be appreciated!

Any link to it?

Found it - http://www.theferraricentre.com

Well, it's an early car but even so, £22,995 is a pretty good price from a dealer.

My LHD '93 with similar miles will be a little more than that and some are going for much more yes

I flew down from Scotland to look around the cars in the Ferrari Centre. I don't think you would be disappointed in the standard of the cars there.

In relation to Zak's car ( http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/840239.htm ) it does look mint and I am sure he has all the parts to put the rear lights back to standard, and I guess would even have it done if needs be.

Thanks for the replies chaps.

Had a look at the fellow PH'er car and it does look very well cared for and he's certainly spent some money on it by the description.

My issue is that I need to move VERY quickly and need finance - lost £50k (and my £25k deposit) in last 4 yrs on my 996TT - hence looking at something that is 'unlikely' to depreciate so much - to let funds build up again - but don't fancy driving the STR at the weekends!!
Understand upkeep costs and they don't concern me too much - it's the huge depreciation that I am trying to avoid.

The car does look mint though and I guess the personal styling touches need to be seen in the flesh to decide one way or the other, but if he's got all the bits then it wouldn't be a problem. It's just another £5k.

As it could be my first Fcar, I'd personally sleep easier knowing there was a warranty to cover major items or somewhere I could go to have a rant ;-)

The Ferrari Centre seem to be quite highly thought of so may be giving them a call. Their car does look good in the pictures.

Thanks, Paul

You will find there is a very good support and info network on here and ClubScuderia.com and ferrarichat.com.

Running them is usually not a scary proposition if you get a good one in the first place.

Sy - that start button might look nice but so do silk negligees ... both ultimately more fussy than necessary though biggrin

I live in Nottingham and bought from Tony the Sales manager a 348tb back in August - I was happy to buy the car based on reputation and a good description of the car by Tony. The car was prepared to a very high standard and I have done 3500 miles since with no issues at all.

It will be going into Graypaul soon for a service but if I lived closer to The Ferrari Centre it would go back there.

Its also very easy to find plus driving the car back 200 miles gives you plenty of time to get to know it ( plus with no cats and a sports exhaust the tunnels on the M25 are awesome )

My car was 30k which was 8k over my initial budget but after all the time I wasted looking at so called mint cars I took the plunge and paid more.

I've cut corners with Italian cars before and been stung later on - its not worth buying a bargain.

A good LHD car should be worth looking at also, after all the wheel is on the correct side !!!

I am doing the sums, but whereas I might "just about" get a 550 past Vic, she will go bloody ballistic about the other ... especially if it means about £3k of work to the house, that we're not staying in that long, just so the car will fit!

Thanks Shiraz. Hi Sy. So this is where you all hide.

My 348 GTB is in mint condition inside & out. I still have the original rear light panel & 348 Lights which I will be giving to the next owner.

I have had several offers but nothing realistic yet. Love the car, and if it wasn't for the fact that I never get it out would gladly keep it. Although I'm looking forward to the summer if I still have it.

Need a four seater for the wife & family. Looking at a really nice Rolls Royce Silver Spirit 3 on AutoTrader for £23K, but also like M5's.

Anyway thanks for thinking about my car, commission cheque will be in the post when it sells.

It's always garaged & well maintained with lots of receipts, MOT's, Tax Disks & Service History.

Let me know what you're asking when the time comes. Not sure I'll be ready financially, but I could do with knowing just in case!

Al - you're thinking about leaving the brotherhood?!!
Nope, my dad tried to get me into the Masons but it's not for me hehe

But yes, I am hankering after something a bit more outrageous ... only thing is, I'm not sure it will fit through the garage door!

Mitch, once serviced and front end painted it will be £24,950 or thereabouts ... mainly because it's a bloody good one. If it doesn't sell it will be going to Le Mans again and on MegaHoon around Spain and France ... and then no doubt need another paint!

(and give me chance to save up for the garage door widening).

Thanks for the posts chaps, but circumstances have just changed for the worse!

Ride the wave while you're on it .... but be very prepared to fall off when the time comes !!!

Anyone reading this and thinking of living beyond their means ... I IMPLORE YOU don't take out finance on cars!! - was bad enough loosing c.£55k in 4yrs .... but I found out 10 mins ago that I have to do a deal tonight/tomorrow to stand a chance of being able to settle the balloon in time ..... OR NOT !?! !?! yikes

Absolutely kicking myself as I got out the finance trap once and always paid cash for my cars - then got tempted by 'this gorgeous Turbo in the corner'

Anyone fancy a cheap 996 Turbo ???

Hi S1M VP

Good luck in your search for a nice Ferrari. Had a similar experience last year and eventually bought a nice 348 TS privately. Nice car, but like you I was used to TVR power so decided to trade up to a 355 (make the most of the credit crunch etc....)

Had some work done at KHPC and was really impressed by their standard of work; actually gave me confidence in running a high performance car after some of the atrocities from my previous East Sussex TVR dealer....

Having said all this, they would NOT take my 348 in px against a 355 (any variant). So I am now the very proud and happy owner of a 355F1 Spider, purchased over a half hour discussion with the chaps at Foskers, Brands Hatch, and wow it is fab (with full 348 p/x).

I would personally advise going for a 355, my 348 didn't trade in for much difference and a much better car - that goddam pig dogleg gearbox, sub-any TVR performance, plus the perpetual X1/9 jokes from my mates. But still loved it.

Any place you go it's a buyers market and deals are there to be done....

Think you got your quotes mixed up there Jas ... I never mentioned it. I think it's such a Godawful term for 348 owners smile

SIM, I'm not quite sure what TVR you had, I'm guessing it must be a Tuscan, T350 or Sagaris, as both of my 348 easily out pace both my Griff 500s, and they were good ones yes

I thought a balloon payment scheme meant you could either pay the final balance and keep the car or simply hand back the keys and walk away.
Or am i reading it wrong and being a bit thick?

I WISH !!!!
They take last payment by direct debit - not good.

I need to sort this out quick smart - DD goes out in 9 days now.
Spoke to Central earlier today and they are getting prices for me, but may be forced to clear finance and save before buying the next toy.
Also speaking to several other dealers re Astons, 348's/355's & 4200's

Sure tomorrow will sway me one way or another
