I'm considering changing car to Gallardo SL. I'm only interested in a black one but they seem to be scarce - can't find any for sale.

In what year was the Gallardo SL introduced and how many were produced?

any suggestions greatly appreciated.

They came out on an 07. There isn't many for sale at the moment, Compared to a month or so ago when there was a fair few. Give it a few weeks and you'll find one in the colour you want. They seem to be starting at about 95k now.Though there was a post here a few weeks ago talking about one for sale in the times for 85k.

I bought one privately last month. Absolutely love it.

Speaking to previous owner and dealers I discovered there are 3 black Superleggera's in the country (official UK cars).

Heard that one of them has recently been written off. My car is not for sale so that leaves you with 1 car to find.

Also interesting to note that in the 3rd week of Jan there were 6 Superleggera's for sale in the UK. One week later 5 of them had been sold.

Lambo London had a black car in the showroom last month, was over priced(119k ish), I was keeping an eye on the car it would seem Scott bought. Did look like a very nice car. I think grey is the next on my list after the black.

350 globally
172 made it stateside and were equally split across black/grey/orange/yellow
i have no uk figures
i have only ever seen two black uk cars ( lambo london + gaydon ), and they may have been one and the same
white was also introduced very late in the day

Orange ones are by far the best. As for black, there's a matt black one at the Swiss dealer at Porrentruy which looks evil (mind you, when I asked about it last year they said it had gone...)

I'm not sure black would be the best choice for SL as the decals are in black!

Unless you wanted the 'stealth' SL look.

I think it looks better in yellow, green and orange so the decals are visible.

No green - black, white, orange, yellow and grey.

Yellow is rather fetching...

I think people sometimes think of the SE in Green as the SL by mistake.

Wouldnt bet on that Martin. These cars are being bought up to go the the far east at a pace.

I would be delighted to buy one for stock.

I might be selling mine in June/July as I have a promised buy-back ... it is LHD on Swiss plates though (and a claim to fame: it used to be factory car DG 191 JW, the car used by Clarkson on the best driving roads programme)

That will be the one where "the fuel cap wouldn't open" then. That was until Clarkson worked out how to operate it! Manual still in Italian then?

The Superleggera decal has a matt finish on black cars - understated - if there is such a thing in the lamborghini vocabulary. biggrin
