I guess there's a real shortage of GOOD cars.

Good being the operative word!

For example:

~169 UK RHD Diablos

Let's say 150 left in the country...

Many have been smashed, bent or are rusty etc...

...and how many of their owners are actually looking to sell?!

I got this too, low prices, good rates on finance.

If you are happy your job is secure or you are cash rich, happy days.

The fun certainly beats bank interest rates.

I dropped into Maranello the other day and they told me they were struggling to get cars as people were not prepared to sell at current market prices

I also received the e-mail but like many others the name seems a bit wrong smile

I got one too with incorrect name. 430 Spider I looked at in November ("and had been in stock a while") still up for sale.

Was at Lambo Manchester on Weds to drop spyder off for service and Mark was pretty much saying the same that the used market has picked up significantly.

Cars in showroom sold and awaiting delivery included 2 LP640's, a roadster and an G SL

I got the same, but with a correct name! ;( In future I'll have to ensure that they use an incorrect name so I can be in the group!

But seriously, I expect they are buying them to ship them abroad whilst the pound is weak.

I too saw the email but was in Dick Lovett Swindon looking at a Lambo 560-4 and LP640 they have. They actually bid me £5,000 more than any other dealer I spoke to in an attempt to close the deal on my 430. I went there to see in the flesh the Verde Pictus LP640. It looks fantastic in the flesh rather than a bit dull in the web pictures. I was told business is brisk with the value of cars being at extremely keen prices.

In the end I did not buy the Lambo but they purchased my 430.

Its a marketing ploy to get you in and offer you one of there cars or offer you silly money for your car. Porsche(Sytner)group done the same thing at the end of last year. We want your car, we know the full history of yours, come on down blah, blah, blah,

I take it in, they tell me its maybe too old for them? Ask me for what i am after and source a few examples while offering me pennies as a trade-in. As a cash buy?, they are not interested.

Personally i think they are wanting your cars to trade them in against there vast number of unsold F430's and Scuds. Not sure how many LP560's have been sold but buying ones with delivery mileage at £20k under list shows me that someone/somewhere is struggling.

Fair question. 5 Sale or Return around the group, 2 Demonstrators, 2 cars in stock at Edinburgh (one of which is just about to be sold by me), 1 car at Maranello.

I hope that was answered quickly enough for your keen interest, Junior D!!

I think all this talk of the dealers being busy may be true. The big question though is ARE THEY MAKING ANY MONEY?? It must be some of the toughest trading conditions some of these dealers have ever seen, Yes some dealers seem to be turning over a fair bit of stock but the prices they are now offered at have never been so close to the private sales sector!!
