Lamborghini closes for two weeks to safe guard Jobs
Discussion
Surely it's a good sign (long term)
This is a measure that seeks to sustain their manufacturing capacity over time.
For fear of stating the blatantly obvious:
According to their own figures, Lamborghini are staffed, equipped, tooled and generally kitted out to bash out 2400+ cars per year and have been doing so for a couple of years.
They may be experiencing a slow down at the moment, so their options include laying staff off or saving money other ways (eg. stoppages like this). The stoppage preserves jobs over time, when they could just as easily save money by reducing their manufacturing capacity through lay-offs.
Clearly they are expecting their fortunes to return to the 2400+ days or they would be looking to actually reduce capacity long term, not sustain it.

Absolutely right. Virtually every manufacturer has closed production for a period of time. Bentley is 7 weeks. Mini is two months etc...Lambo is actually the shortest. This is a measure that seeks to sustain their manufacturing capacity over time.

And as we are often reminded on here, they are owned by Audi!!

No problem. I am going to work for the factory looking after the dealers in the Middle East.
Not sure I will get the four hour lunches David!
Does this mean you'll be able to look forward to even more of the delights of working with the mighty JJ then? Not sure I will get the four hour lunches David!

...OK here's how you do that 4 hour 'moment' between the grinding hours of being at Sant'Agata each day.
Take a UAE lunch break = 1.2 hours-ish,
an Italian lunchbreak = 2 hours +
and then a UK lunchbreak = 0.1 hours and
if you're lucky
(and you obviously are you
all you'll be missing is a few minutes that you could fill with some nattering with the folk you'll see between the many square metres of your vast, marble-floored office / tiny, paperclip-strewn, sheep-pen sized microdesk and the 'canteen'...
[battered 80's scouser] easy, anybody can do that, I could do it, gissajob, go on, gissit, go on... [/battered 80's scouser]

...not if you turn up looking like Yosser Hughes!!!
That's a good question - not sure if a fair number of Club Members haven't been effectively Sant'Agata employees over the years... You'll have heard of Del Hopkins who's a Member still and worked with all of the official importers from the early 70's to late 90's and who was very-trained at Sant'Agata in is early days and must have had his pay from somewhere...
One of our Members was of the opinion that he was effectively employed by the factory but quickly learned that being an employee of LSHW wasn't quite the same thing... There's been a lot of Lamborghini sales folk in the UK who joined LCUK but weren't paid by the factory and a few who did work for the factory but weren't in the Club... and any point in between...
...so, yes, you probably are... if you'd say that various honourary Members like Pres. W. weren't 'proper' LCUK Members...
...or, actually, no, probably... as you'd have to say that various Members-whether-they-like-it-or-not like Valentino and Cristina G. aren't...
Again, Mr. Marmellata, you're a lucky chap! How are your Italian lessons getting on?

...why is there an oversized copy of my christmas card sitting on lambo's front lawn ?
that sign
breaks
the ALSpA corp. id guidelines...
or it would if they'd actually left
07.00 Signage
in the manual and not deleted it due to having a fekkin' big sign placed at the front of the place that was probably wrong and they knew it.
...a very Italian solution to a problem - as in "problem? What problem?"...
They left the contents page line in the pdf that announces 07.00 Signage, but NOT actually section 07.00 Signage
but I guess it would have applied the same way as it applies with printed matter, since the same spacing requirements should apply really, not that I'd know, I only helped design corporate identity stuff for really diddy companies like Green Flag, BP, the Aramco 'replacement' Samarec and the likes of General Electric, Petplan, Glaxo SmithKline, Porsche GB...
