Driving down to the Millau bridge later, and was wondering if there is anything else in the area that is worth visiting? Are there any nice museums or places of interest that I should whilst there?

Do take the time to drive down to the village of Millau if you can, to sit down with a beer looking up at the sheer scale of the engineering in the bridge is well worth it.

Unfortunately I get vertigo and this didn’t help when crossing the bridge an hour so later, arms locked, head down in a state of terror!

Hi Will smile

Give Harsh a shout - He has organised a couple of runs down there and will have some very good ideas - and maybe know some 'must-drive' roads biggrin

Depends when you are going but if the weather is ok taking your car up Mont Ventoux is excitng and gets the adrenaline going. I drove the Diablo up Mont Ventoux in 2007 when I visited Milau on a Furball. The Milau Bridge was ok but too foggy up there to see much but Mont Ventoux was mad even better than Stelvio.

I carried on to Andorra - turned out to be a bit disappointing (and the traffic on a Spanish bank holiday was horrendous), but the drive over the Pyrenees was excellent.

One of the best drives I've done, Valencia to. . . Slough, Via Millau

My advice would be to approach the bridge from the south, if at all possible. You don't actually see the bridge until the last moment as you are driving along a road cut between rock and then as you round a corner, the whole valley and bridge is laid before you and you drop down onto it. Quite spectacular, and far better than from the north approach which is relatively flat.

Oh and do it in a convertible, and then turn round and do it again, like we did.
