612: Not often i read posts about them here?!
Discussion
Now i admit i am a great fan of the car and its looks. I am 46 and chilled out a lot and could never have a true sports car again or anything fashionable etc like a Vantage.
i doubt they will drop much more . But has anyone any "real time" experience between the manual and the paddle shift?
To me the only other car i would buy ( no funds now !) would be a Quattroporte, so you can see where i am coming from !
What reports i have seen, the magazines etc say its one of the better Ferraris etc . Yet it seems to be rare as hell , even in the smart parts of London. iS there a reason why they do not feature here so much?
Thanks

EFAThe 599 rear is too compressed. Makes it look like its been rear ended. But what suits me wont suit others. I think the 612 will get less "Negative" thoughts from others . I think it just has cleaner lines, And for you cannot get a 599 for 612 money (yet !!)

I have glasses thank you, if you conducted a poll I think you would find you are in the minority thinking the 612 is a good looking car never mind in comparison to a 599. It is a very good car I agree and ideal if you need 4 seats but if you only need 2 seats and want a 12 cyl car the 599 is the one.Or do you base your findings on the fact that at the moment the 612 is cheaper

What Ferrari do you drive at the moment?

EFA
, 599 is no 355 but 612 is its fatter, saggier, uglier sister IMHOneil-f said:
Come on tell us what you drive.........
20v UR quattro ( sorted by Dialynx) as i am holding onto my cash until either a 612 in a good colour scheme etc pops up. But I drove a £53k QP this morning that makes me question even a 612 !! Ive yet to try a manual 612 and would love to try one and see how heavy they are for town use etc .

I had a 10v & 20v Ur Quattro when they where new great cars.
Mine only has 54k on the clock !! The previous owner had the thing almost rebuilt by Dialynx complete with head.turbo, suspension etc. It is tighter than new ! One of the few cars i do not expect to lose much on .baguaman said:
i own a qp and have driven a 612.. 612 most definately a better car than the qp
Do not do that !!!!!!!tell me why please ! which version of each etc? I know if i win the lottery i will buy a 2009 Quattroporte within 24 hours ! That new gear box is the best thing to happen to it
ok...... i wait your reply !
the 612 is just more finely balanced,,, dont get me wrong the balance on the qp..is the main thing that makes the car special..the new gear box is a massive improvement... but if you drive a jag xk or xf the boxes are better than a qp..
so why havent i bought a scaglietti..? not sure really.... i have a 550..which i got bored of and have now fallen back in love with it.. so scratches the v12 itch
i have kids..two of them and although they are 6 and 8 they are both keen pistonheads.. they prefer the scaglietti.. yes nothing to go on.. but i think if you combine the poise of the scag..the f1 box..the sense of occasion the beautiful sound system compared to the bose system of the qp..scag seems to win imho..
scags prices are dropping fast and i believe this time next year they will go into free fall.. so a patient wait for me..
both by the way cost a fortune to maintain...
